I've known about this company and the man for many years. Would always see him at Tokyo Auto Salon. One day I was driving running errands and I unknowling passed by his shop in Tomisato. I had no idea it was there. At first I thought it was just another tuner shop. Upon closer look it was the legendary RE Amemiya shop. I had no idea all this time I was living less than 5km from his shop.

As a rotary fan and previous owner of an FC and RX8 I appreciate this video. Rotaries get a lot of shade thrown at them. I honestly think they are not for everybody. I took care of my cars making sure they were fully warm before I turned it off even on short rides. I checked fluids every full tank of gas and drove them year round including Chicago winters. The only problem I had was with my RX8’s alternator going out twice and that’s not even a mechanical problem 🤷🏻♂️

The best Japanese rotary tuner? Yes and no, depending on who you ask. The most well known Japanese rotary tuner internationally? Yes. To me, I think Ama-san's team produce the best products and build the best Rx7's, but there are a handful of Japanese rotary tuners out there and are up to par with them such as R-Magic, FEED, Knight Sports, Panspeed, RS Active, Revolution, ERC, etc. Each founder have their own history as well. There are also a couple dozen shops out in the country side that don't get the exposure, but has been building amazing rotary machines for years. I had the pleasure of visiting RE Amemiya's main shop in Koto a few times, never been to their other shop in Chiba. Very humble guys, extremely passionate tuners.

What this video fails to mention, back in the 80’s there where three types of racing in Japan. Highway racing, drifting in the mountains and 0-400 (quarter mile) in the city streets..I used to drag race in Tokyo and Yokohama area in the early 80’s throughout the early 90’s.. crazy times in Japan back in them days! Used to race until sun came up, or morning traffic…

@ducedevlstear2471
Жыл бұрын
@@Kaidopoet good, I really liked that video, only the audio is a bit behind, but you already know that. It's just that the jazz you used makes it even more clashing with your voice, it's too dynamic. If I can recommend you, check channels "Hunter's Moon" and "Popo Medic", they are two channels that recently really impressed me with their editing. I suspect that you probably know about Hunter's Moon, he does content similar to yours and I was hoping he would cover Amemiya san and some other Japanese street racing legends. Popo Medic is differently orientated channel but the editing is fantastic and what shocks me with him is despite using really dynamic music, it somehow works. There isn't any problem of understanding him or anything. But you have only started and you will greatly improve just with that mic alone. Loved your content and instantly subscribed after one video. Even hit that bell for instant access to your new videos. And I only have maybe 5 other channels like that. Excited for what's coming. Hope for lot more similar videos. I'd love to learn more about Wangan legends.
