The second tax bracket means GMs have to go back to actual roster building again. No more multiple superstars and a bunch of vet minimums. NBA parity the last few seasons has been fantastic
@emekakhamun7005
3 ай бұрын
Not necessarily. It's an opportunity cost thing, the parity doesn't mean much with the style of play and and officiating in the modern era. They don't have to have dynasties doing 3-peats. But the prestige of top tier franchises being eroded will not help with rating or marketing. There is a value to seeing great teams rise and have windows of dominance then be taken down by a better team. The newer brackets & collective bargaining were a reactionary result of people crying about GSW's dominant period when they thought they would win the next decade straight.

As a Suns fan, I hate the fact we gave up ALL our assets for two players! I never liked how we had to give up Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson for an older KD who just causes drama and will probably end up leaving for nothing. Beal, man he was even worse!!!! We literally can't trade him! I was in favor of the Suns getting some good role players, but never did I imagine that my team, the team I grew up watching, would make yet another idiotic trade that would jeopardize our future! Our future is cooked! Matt Ishbia is a moron for thinking we're gonna win with the players we have. Great job on the Knicks for landing Mikal, while also keeping OG! NYK is back on the map!

I don't think we need to be patient, because one of our problem is that we don't have a star (even Green and Sengun will not be a 1st option in a good team). If we get Book or a good young star that's pretty cool (but please not Durant)
@guillermoportillo7949

@@jesus360noscope5 That’s true, but me personally, I think Sengun has a high ceiling. He has shown great flashes in his passing and scoring. He’s a consistent 20 pt 10 rebound guy nearly every game. This was also pretty much the last year the Knicks could make a deal with OG's new extension and Brunson and Randle's impending extensions. After those kick in, they can't make a star trade nor sign one due to the cap crunch and CBA rules. Bridges fits their timeline and identity like a glove, thus the overpay.

The main things the Knicks need is Brunson to open his eyes a little. I love him as a player but watching him at the end of that Pacer series was embarrassing. Hopefully with a 3&D guy like Bridges, he isn’t so afraid to look around. Way too much iso ball for the amount of talent the Knicks have. Just imagine how good he would be if he worked on his passing. Passing ability is what made Luka and prime Harden so difficult to guard.

@shorewall

If someone else has your picks, then if you are bad, they get the good pick from your bad record, and you don't. So you can't really tank for a high draft pick. If you get your picks back, then you can tank and get a high draft pick. You are in control.

KD was dropping high ppg while sharing the ball with two stars Beal and Book. Not to mention he was shooting like 45-50% from the arc the first half of the season. He is still a certified offensive weapon. He is an oversized shooting guard. The two highest scorers on the Rockets can't shoot the 3 ball for shit. I could see them leveraging KD's strength to cover their weakness. For some reason people have KD hatred just cemented in their brain. Rockets have a snowballs chance in hell to crack the west with how stacked it is with their current roster. But, why the fuck would KD himself want to goto the Rockets.

Why would any team care if they get their own picks or any other team's picks, as long as they get equivalent to what they had (*someone's FRP to replace their FRP they traded away)? I get it if a team's plan is to tank, then ok they gotta have their picks to take advantage of tanking. But we're not talking about teams tanking are we? The way they're talking about it sounds like a weird emotional thing like "they've gotta get closure with their ex-picks🤣 Confused af
