Wow! @21:20 this explains soooo much! I always had digestive issues as a kid, then allergies, then autoimmune Interstitial cystitis and was dx bipolar in late teens then my dx was changed to autism in my 50s. I always thought of myself as a healthy eater, lots of organic whole foods and vegetables but jusy kept getting sicker. Changed my diet from WFPB gradually over to full carnivore hoping for relief from my autoimmune symptoms but was really surprised at the huge reduction in autistic symptoms as well within the first 2 weeks! Way less sensory processing issues, less anxiety with human interraction and an overall calmness I had no idea would come just from adding fatty meats and butter and cutting out all plants! An added bonus to the fact that my autoimmune symptoms have now completely gone and I’ve been able to get off biologic medication for the first time in years!

too bad not everyone can afford a functional medicine medical team🙃that's the main reason most people don't because WE SIMPLY CAN'T AFFORD IT and insurance won't cover it. it's the same reason I haven't gotten a breast reduction even though I desperately need one; can't afford it

I’ve watched hundreds of shows like this. The problem that we have in this country is that we have an epidemic of autoimmune and neuro disorders and the majority of these issues exist within a populous that CAN’T WORK…therefore we CAN’T AFFORD to see these specialists. We can’t get disability because we can’t get a diagnosis because we can’t afford the specialist. We can educate ourselves all day long but we cannot get the tests and the treatments needed. When you have a brain disorder your life tends to become like a hamster wheel. An endless round and round of roadblocks without an end in sight.

This sounds like such a difficult situation. I've helped lots of families that don't receive formal insurance-covered support. My book is an excellent option (TurnAutismAround.com), but I also have a resources page that you might find helpful: MaryBarbera.com/resources.
