Love to see the football on this channel. I don’t think anyone does much content on vintage football. Hard to believe football is so cheap compared to baseball given the game has been more popular than baseball for decades.
@chrisolivo6591

Football fans and Baseball fans are different when it comes to the history of their respective games. Most NFL fans and the media don’t even recognize anything before the SuperBowl era (hence this video doesn’t mention NFL Champion QB’s before SuperBowl 1). NFL fans don’t care about records as they are willing to sacrifice previous records to todays game. You can’t even compare passing records with Unitas, Bradshaw, or Staubach to today’s QB who throws for 4,000+ yards every year. Baseball is built on history so collectors gravitate to Ruth, Cobb, Young, Mantle, Aaron, Mays, etc. Otto Graham went to 10 straight NFL championships before the SuperBowl era and I guarantee you most younger fans never even heard of him.
@Cards-In-The-Closet
Жыл бұрын
@@chrisolivo6591 Ehh..I disagree. Football fans do care about records. The game has changed more than baseball has, so it's harder to compare player accomplishments in different decades. Baseball has had different eras making it hard to compare apples to apples with different mounds, balls ballpark sizes etc. I think if baseball ever changed the name of the World Series, they would eventually have the same problem football has now with pre-Super Bowl championships. I do think the NFL could do a better job marketing the history of the game, and not sell the Super Bowl so hard, but it pays the bills.
@reallygraycards7139

I see both sides of this coin. No doubt football is more popular than baseball and I follow both. I played football but never did play baseball but there is something to be said for “as American as baseball and apple pie…”. From a collecting standpoint it is easy to flip the card and compare. Rules in baseball move like molasses (hence why younger fans may be more disengaged) so 120 years of players can be considered when looking at best, better, famous, etc. on the other side of the coin, soccer is the most popular sport in the world and soccer lags both football and baseball in values (save for a few outliers: Madonna, Pele and Messi)

I know either packercards87 or Cheddar Bob pulled one within the past year. I cant remember if it was a random pack opening or a boom box. I love opening high end, but I can't afford to more than a few boxes of Bowman Baseball I buy every year lol. So I have to watch guys open that awesome stuff! I feel like after this season now would be a great time to find that Stafford auto, cuz silly people would devalue an Injured, down year. I remember you sending in many submissions on regular rollers and such. Memorable name. I always wondered which LT lol. I'll tag you in a comment if I find one somewhere that seems "not ridiculous" 😂

@@livinwithlt dude I just had to look a minute ago. Look on ebay at 2022 Black smokeshow auto of Stafford. It is literally one of the nicest autos I've ever seen on any card, in any sport, since they started putting em in packs in 1990 upper deck. It is a Rams auto. Its one of the coolest cards I've ever seen imo. But it'll prob go for 500 cuz the auto is SO PERFECT. Wow!
