You are spot on! Rough Ryder knives are awesome and some need some TLC but for the most part you’re getting a tremendous bargain. Great video!

Good video, totally agree that taking the time to clean and adjust a less than perfect RR knife is well worth the effort. Although I haven't been able to buff off the RR on the bolster yet...maybe a sunshine cloth will fo the trick. Thanks for the video, looking forward to your next episode.

Lol, Jason. Good rant! Next video I want to see you do all this to a new knife. That would be cool.

Great review, just ordered one. My first RR in a decade, never had to clean them on arrival. But I got the amazing SMKW Queen wharncliffe in saw bone last week and it needed a full flushing of the pivot. No big deal, they just get better and better.

Thank you. There are no other knives with the mechanical quality of Rough Ryder for the price. You find out quickly when you order one from Frost cutlery. Customizing my knives has always been part of the hobby for me and that's lead to fixing them also. Just a bit of effort put into a Rough Ryder for the one maybe two things that sometimes show up on their knives gets you a lifetime knife for relatively no money. And the options they offer are endless.

Many times we can fix these minor problems. I like mine. Blade didn't wiggle, and gaps don't bother me much. Rough Ryder's usually need a good cleaning & a little oil. Once that's done, the action improves significantly. I have never sent one back, but I have fixed a few issues. For me, the most annoying defect is blade rap. It doesn't happen often. I agree with you 💯 percent on this video. 👍

I can't seem to fund that pin you taking about in this video. I love, love this knife and need to center the blade . Help please

That would be the main blade pin. The pin holding the blade and front bolsters together. You’re not supposed to see it, it’s polished into the bolster. 👍🏼 Also, watch a video on blade centering first. The blade pin is not what, exactly, you adjust for blade centering. Good luck!👍🏼😁🔪

I love Sunshine cloths. My wife makes jewelry and turned me on to them. I buy them from Amazon.
