Very Proud to be a Motswana ... As a motswana from birth you are given free health care and free baby products for underprivileged and free high quality porridge ( Tsabana ) for babies who will then be given free lifetime education as long as you qualify .. The youth have access to YDF 50/50 loan and grant to start or grow their businesses... In farming sector everyone with a ploughing field is given free seeds and fertilizer and government pays tractor owners to plough those fields ... We still have a long way to go in terms of better governance and creating an economy thats not dependent on diamonds and is inclusive ... We give thanks to our first president Sir Seretse Khama and his predecessor Sir Ketumile Masire on laying such a strong foundation for our current leadership to take us forward ...

@@toontumnetworkWhere the leadership does come from? Same neighbourhoods, same schools, same churchs as most common people. We vote them to office bcz they are the best citizens among us. So, is leadership problem or entire population issue? I believe the problem is from the people/citizens themselves. Africans expect and demand everything from their gvt, bcz Africa is rich, Africa is resource full wich is wrong. America and Norway have tonnes of oil and natural gas, they are top producers and exporters of these commodities. Do you know what makes them rich? Gvt taxes, yes people pay heavy taxes to their gvt. How much taxes Nigeria collect per year? Less than 10% of the taxes amount collected by SA gvt. Taxes to fund gvt budget is the main issue. People don't pay enough taxes to fund their gvt. And yet, they blame the gvts for not doing nothing. With which money? For your information, everyone in Botswana including gvt officials, is by law a catle farmer. The average motswana adult has 3,000 cows. Catle is the real source of Botswana wealth, not diamonds.

Botswana seems to be doing well but in my opinion there is a lot of gaps that we need to fill, firstly we need to hold ourselves to higher standards of business, as a result local businesses fail while foreign owned flourish, though education is free our letracy rate is low, little number of HP gradutes from high school, lack of job creation cause not many batswana have the ability to start something and commit, broken families equals moral decay. However our future seems bright under the current leadership as we being forced to sink or swim, challenging us as nation to work towards creating or developing the industrial sector, manufacturin, farming etc. There some sort of awakening currently Botswana and to win we need to see more unity from Batswana.

The pre independent African leaders and institutions were patriotic, selfless and socialistic in orientation and that’s why we witnessed so many developments and people oriented programs a decade or so after independence. But starting from the 1970s we have witnessed the emergence of myopic, self centered, vision less and kleptomanic leaders and politicians including traditional rulers and chiefs whose relevance is long overdue in our modern world.

Yep! One thing about Ghanaians, they rarely give bad government a free pass. When they're free to criticise, they do.😂

@@toontumnetwork thanks, you just reminded me also to subscribe, this video just popped up and I've subbed too. I love positivity, we will go somewhere as Africans if we collaborate. We need you guys expertise on fashion and music and your leaders can learn a thing or 2 from our own...

As a South African who's heard them critise my country(even when I disagree with their assessments), I can largely agree with this...We need more content creators who are not out to just push agendas/narratives.

Botswana is a country with a relatively small population, coupled with proper management of resources this is possible. Nigeria still subsidizes public university education till today. Haven said that, kudos to their leaders for being there for their people.
