The sad truth about Lawn Care is that it's a love/hate relationship. When you reap the benefits of hard work, it's great! But when you're fighting the elements it truly makes you want to give up sometimes.
Today I'm going to talk about the 5 sad truths of lawn care.
Sad Truth #1:
There is rarely instant gratification when it comes to lawn care. 90% of the time lawn care is a waiting game. Whether you're fertilizing your lawn, leveling your lawn, or killing weeds, they all take time.
Sad Truth #2:
There is no magic product that will magically transform your lawn. To know exactly what your grass needs, you need to do a soil test. The soil test will reveal your pH and NPK, which are your macronutrients. They are called macronutrients for a reason. They are the most important nutrients your grass needs to survive. You should always try your best to get these numbers as optimal as possible.
Sad Truth #3:
Some people won't even have to try to get a better lawn than yours. Some lawns are blessed to have better soil or better cultivars of grass when they were put in. You can try as hard as you can, but the truth is some people may not have to work as hard to have a better lawn than you.
Sad Truth #4:
To have a dark green lawn throughout the entire summer, irrigation is a must. Grass needs water to survive, period. And when them super hot days of summer come your grass is going to need water to not go dormant. Irrigation or some type of watering system in your lawn is a must to make it look as good as possible.
Sad Truth #5:
The gratification of lawn care only lasts as long as you want to work at it. After all the time, money, and work we've done on our lawns, we will never reap the long term benefits that someone else will have had with a different hobby. As soon as we quit, the lawn will quit giving back.
