Mind blown at how these get found. They're literally .5 second bits scattered throughout the entirety of recorded music, filtered and pitch shifted to hell.

How did you find the transition from Ableton to Bitwig? You enjoying it so far? Worth the switch?
@lephunk1
Жыл бұрын
Learning curve isnt steep. Bitwig got developed by former Ableton employees, so they are very similar. I find bitwig's audio editing and macros way more capable than Live's, but Live has better devices for sampling and midi keyboard section. I still use both. They are great.

Is there someone who discovered his compression trick ? I can't figure out exactly what makes it dirty and punchy at the same time. I think there is a kind of a bitcrusher too, in order to glue those samples together.
@lepnk
Жыл бұрын
Bitcrush doesn't make samples glue together, just distorts and increases the sound of frecuencies kind of like comb filtering. It's just compression and warm saturation. LOTS of it feeding one signal to another. Play with multiband compression values on Ableton a bit. You'll get pretty close. It's not that hard.

How'd you get Ableton to display the file without the whole thing being one color?
@lepnk
Жыл бұрын
Once you drop the file, Live picks a random color for each track/file unless you change that on settings. You can choose any color you want to be Live's default everytime it generates a track. This video was made using Bitwig, tho. You gotta change colors manually for each piece like in the video both for Ableton Live and Bitwig.

I love this types of videos about samples. It takes a lot of work and dedication. But i suggest ditching this static sound for transition. It is too loud and distracting. When sample is quiet, it becomes irratating. Even black screen with silence would be better in my opinion. Why? Cos viewer would have a moment to procces sound, remember it within this brief moment of nothing. But static is taking space and adds noting.
