After wild camping near a lock on the Shropshire Union Canal I continue my walk along the Sandstone Trail. The first half of the walk ascends some of the most inspiring hills covered in ancient woods with hidden caves and rugged gorse land. After this the landscape is more pastoral through green fields inhabited by sheep and cattle. Some folk say this is a boring stretch but I enjoyed it as a gentle finale to my walk, only slightly tainted by the fact that I was running out of time, I hate having to walk to dead lines!
