Lordshippers are some of the most prideful, wicked people you will ever meet. They talk grace through faith but then redefine faith as obedience and belief as total commitment. They say that you must repent of your sins to be saved. That's law keeping and has never saved anyone or contributed in any way to salvation. Saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ "alone" for salvation. Repentance of sins is a service issue. Salvation is absolutely free and not conditional upon service. I serve God faithfully out of love and gratitude for the free gift of salvation, whilst the faith plus works equals salvation crowd serves God to help out with their salvation. Therein lies the difference between us.

After what felt like an eternity but was only about 10 minutes, I began to fake it. I felt like they were all expecting something to happen, so I just pretended. One thing is for sure the amount of unforgiveness one holds-in can weigh very heavy on one's soul and it can physically & emotionally tear and bring one down even to the point of death depending on how added anger hooks onto a person's being. I believe the Pastor's wife is simply trying to live her Faith out in forgiving her husband. In Matthew 18:21-32 the Lord Jesus was asked by one of his disciples(Peter) on.."How often should one forgive their brother ( in Faith) who sins against them? Jesus answer was..."not only 70 x 7 BUT 70 X 70...." meaning an infinite/limitless amount of times. Christ's Word (The Holy Bible) speaks in his prayer (Matthew 6:9-13), "...and forgive us AS(same as) we forgive those(others) who trespass (sin/do us harm) against us..." encourages us to forgive AS we would want others to forgive us. DO NOT judge the Pastor's wife for wanting to forgive...ONLY God knows what he has asked of her and PRAY God's strength & blessing is over her and her children. In the end each one of us will face our Maker & Creator as to how we lived our lives; what we did with the breath of life HE bestowed on us during our human journey on this earth and/or whether or not we took to heart to love and forgive AS HE did with us...To be true to God's Word. ONLY he knows what sin lurks in our minds and souls...God have mercy on us. NO ONE is above God..., "...for it is written, Vengeance is mine, I will repay, saith the Lord.".

When I was 12 my bestfriend and I met some girls at our neighborhood pool. We all became friends. 1 of the girls was the daughter of a pastor and the other girls went to that church and their private school. While we went to public school and I was raised catholic. Anyway we were invited to go to a summer camp and we went. While there were fun things to do at the camp like horse back riding and go carts and water slides, we were expected to go to church services every morning and every night. This is where things got crazy. There were all these exdrug addicts getting on stage and saying how the lord changed them and everyone was speaking in tongues and people were passing out. The 2nd night we were there we walked out of church service and there was a boy around our age acting intoxicated. I was concerned and asked if he was ok. They responded to me that the boy was drunk in the holy spirit. This boy was thrashing around and acting insane. That night my bestfriend and I decided to call our parents cause we wanted to go home. My mom came and got us 2 days later. It was like a 10 hr drive. I'm 41 now and remember it like it was yesterday.

I will tell you about a passage in the Bible about the Apostle Peter. On Pentecost, Peter went out and was telling the people about Jesus Christ. He was speaking in every different language of the people there. Jews, Greeks, Samarians, etc. People thought he was drunk because he was speaking in different languages so everyone would understand what he was saying. It was 9:00 in the morning. My point is, that people are affected by the Holy Spirit. I know for a fact. Some people fake it, but it is also a fact that the Holy Spirit will impact that person to an extent that they are filled completely with the Holy Spirit, and they laugh and dance and are filled with joy from the Spirit. Some people would think they were drunk, but they were NOT. You have to read the whole Bible to understand just what the Holy Spirit does in someone's life.

@@okoala62 My youth leader was a REALLY cool guy. I wanted to be just like him. We connected on sports, skateboarding, art. He seemed like the big brother I never had. Only once did I mention to him that I felt weird around Ted and from that moment on it kinda seemed like the older brother who doesn't want to be seen around the lame young sibling. Shortly after that I expressed to my Mom that I didn't want to return to church and she was very supportive and open with the discussion. I tried other churches after that, and remained a believer, but nothing stuck. I wouldn't become an Atheist until I graduated from college 10ish years later.

@@evaschroeder4614 I’m sure some of the child abusers are somewhat sorry about their acts, after the fact, therefore they go get atonement and forgiveness from the priest, regardless. I watched a show where a gay journalist was told by his friend that a gay priest would regularly show up at a gay bar that they attended, to party and then pick up some man there and the priest would spent a one night stand with this fellow, at this journalist’s friend’s place ( I don’t have a problem with that except that if it’s the C. Church hierarchy and the priest speaking out against the so called “sin” to the congregants, it’s pretty rotten, two faced and destructive to say it’s wrong to their young LGTB+ Catholics that are shamed about their sexuality while the Church protects their hierarchy from doing the same thing but much worse). Then this priest would setup a little table in the morning and give himself atonement. So I don’t think what you said is entirely accurate, at least not for the Church leadership. Also a huge number of pedophilloic priests have been protected from prosecution by the C.C and intentionally moved around to new schools or hunting grounds by the Church. If they ever do have to answer to the crime, which is rare because the C.C. has very good lawyers working for them, they just pay the victim out some pittance of money ( $20-30 K for ruining their young lives ) and the Church lawyers make the victims sign a nondisclosure agreement so that they can never talk with anyone about what really happened to them. This kind of protection under the Church is why many, many Catholics are now leaving the Church. The Vatican has 145 Billion dollars in their coffers and they obviously aren’t doing anything real for the child victims, that would help them with compensation. Or the poor either, often enough, by the looks of it.

Thank you for the documentary. I was angry & saddened by it all. I knew Ted & other pastors there. I was a pastor at another very large church in Colorado Springs. One of the things I noticed in my involvement with New Life church, was a lack of real accountability… I often wondered, does Ted have anyone in his life who is holding him accountable and vice versa? We all need those kinds of people in our lives, to help us with our own potential blind spots. I remember after the initial scandal and his admission, there were people that were involved in a restoration process and eventually Ted allegedly came out from under them. That raised a pretty big red flag for me. One of the people who was mentoring him was Pastor Jack Hayford out of the Los Angeles area. Jack from all accounts was an incredible man and passed away in Jan 2023 at age 89. Jack wrote dozens of books, was on the radio, and was very well known. There were no scandals associated with him as far as I know.
