"TV Preview + Q&A: The Scapegoat
The creative team behind The Scapegoat, a feature-length ITV adaptation of Daphne Du Maurier's 1957 novel, visit BFI Southbank for a panel discussion. The film stars Matthew Rhys as two unrelated but physically identical men, one of whom steals the identity of the other.
Director Charles Sturridge reveals he was excited by the challenge of making an astonishing premise plausible and compelling for an audience. He also recounts a conversation he had with Du Maurier's granddaughter Grace, which he feels gave him license to make significant changes to the source material. Actors Alice Orr-Ewing, Andrew Scott and Jodhi May describe their experiences of the film's relatively short shooting schedule."
