We've had this problem since PCs have existed, and only recently have solutions emerged that help this plight, and unfortunately they are not available to everyone. Options such as dual bios, flashback bios should be found even in the low end of motherboards, none of these things require hugely expensive components through which the price of the motherboard should be higher, simply corporations are milking people out of money left and right.

The classic solution is to unplug the BIOS flash chip and plug it into a device that can write arbitrary file images into that kind of chip . In the 1980s, they were 27xx series EPROMs that could be written by putting them in the network boot socket on a network card and then written with some clever free tools, otherwise there's always the professional universal EPROM burners, which had adapters and settings for most such chips ever created . However on modern MBs, the flash chip is often a small serial flash chip that uses the I²C or SPI interfaces exposed on the expansion ports of devices like the raspberry Pi . So using free ROM writing tools should be possible, but the chip often isn't removable .
