I have a hard time imagining that the vast majority of truck owners would choose one of these over a Silverado EV, F-150 Lightning, or R1T.

If you look at the infrastructure requirements for EVs, you will quickly see that the entire concept is infeasible.
@edwardgiovannelli5191

its not infeasible, it just needs further development. We didn't have gas stations on every corner in 1903 - were IC engine cars infeasible? Problem is, you need a stable market leader to standardize and push for infrastructure and Elon Musk is just no that leader. Maybe before the heavy drug use, but now... no, he's too fried.

@@edwardgiovannelli5191 look at how much mining of lithium and copper it would require to replace even 20pc of the car and truck fleet. It's impossible. Not to mention getting all that energy from wind and solar is also impossible, so they'll use fossils to power that grid. Plus they're far worse for the environment. The entire concept is a scam from end to end.

@@andyfeimsternfei8408 But its *not* a testbed for new technologies. Its a testbed for poor design choices. There is no exoskeleton, only heavy pointless steel panels hanging on the pedestrian monocoque frame. The auto hatch closers are a decade *behind* every other manufacturer, and general usability is slightly better than a 1984 Yugo. Bottom line is, its an exercise in function follows form in the worst possible way, and has lived up to exactly none of the manufacturer's original claims.
