I love when ARG's have so much fun making things. Not physical objects, but like all of those audio recordings, the pamphlets, the book exerts, the video game, the idea of a Viewmaster with SOUND is just so neat. Also, as a Halifax person, I've heard Halifax pop up in media more often this year, but for this ARG to not only give it an excerpt but to also mention the impact of construction on Cole Harbour for a fictional space center is such a great level of detail. Hat's off to the creators!

I love everything about this ARG. The artifacts, especially. Look at the Newell magazine, for instance. It's a clear pastiche of pop-sci publications of the era, Omni in particular. Everything from the font choices to the text layout speaks to the effort the creators put into maintaining verisimilitude. And creators, if you're reading this: keep up the incredible work, and I look forward to the wonders to come in this project.

This has been SO MUCH FUN to dig into and encompasses a lot of vibes I love from from other projects (such as SCP, Control, various Wham City Comedy projects, etc.). Many props to whoever's behind this project! You have created something stellar and I look forward to falling deeper down the mystery! :)

That first “orientation video” really sold me on this whole project. There’s definitely some stock footage in there but it blends so seamlessly with the new footage it’s almost imperceptible. They clearly put the time in to find high quality sources, then put even more work into post-production making it all look like it was shot with the same camera. I am 100% unsurprised that there’s a film studies professor behind this, and I’m jealous of his students because this is the work of someone who definitely gets it.

This ARG seems much more inspired by the Control (and by connection, Alan Wake) video game rather than directly by the SCP Foundation. Which is fine with me. The evolution of the concepts the SCP Foundation created have been wonderful and this is becoming my favorite sub-genre of sci-fi. I don't even think the "anomalous object" genre has an agreed up on name, yet.

Reminds me so much of 2001: A Space Odyssey. So many parallels... Alien obelisk on the moon discovered by man, an omniscient AI system, a place in spacetime where the incomprehensible is experienced in full... This feels like a love letter to 2001 with its own flair and an absolutely amazing attention to detail. So many little moving parts.

I can't stop thinking about the tuna. It seems like the tuna is connected to the Spacetime Displacements somehow. Novak was eating a tuna sandwich. The revised 1999 launch schedule mentioned shipping a large order of tuna steaks to the mars colony. Halle specifically picks out the tuna-flavored chips and tuna jerky, which Claude notes is also what Reese would have chosen. Maybe being exposed to the phenomena gives you cravings for tuna for some reason?

Okay, farfetched theory... Claude said to Halley in the elevator that Trenchard & Ross created him & that they also created Halley... could they possibly be her parents?? I mean, no memory, no last name & with Claude being chock full of information maybe, just maybe T&R are Halley's parents. It could explain just how she's connected to all this. She said it herself, "Why her?" And Reese said that she was different... and with a lot of Reese's memories still gone he couldn't put two & two together.

My absolute favorite part of everything you cover is the critical feedback and reception portions of the show. The discussions always make me feel a lot of joy in particular because there's such enthusiasm on display for how this genre works, what it's about, and of course what incredible amounts of work must go into the examples. With as much as inter-dimensional cans of Tuna must cost, it's clear that no expense was sparred in virtually any element of the production, big hats off for physical props that look the part, too.

Three things are immediately coming to mind when you started talking about the space coast, omega and space-time deviation. 1. Nostalgia because I grew up in Florida and have been to the Space Coast. I watched more than one shuttle launch from my yard in Orlando. 2. Dr. Who, because the timelord responsible for time travel was called Omega (usually pronounced omegar). In the process of the events that caused time travel, he sent to an antimatter universe. 3. The video game Control particularly because there's a whole bit with an old hotel within the main setting of the game and because it deals with things connected to something outside our world. In that case power from another dimension (I think) and in this case time, but not our time. On a side note the ider that these LBA things are entrances to this garden is funny, as one is located in Florida and there is a legend that the Garden of Eden was located on the Apalachicola River in Florida.

This project reminds me a bit of a story I wrote for a character concept of mine a long time ago of an ancient alien who developed a piece of tech to aid in the survival of their race after it was found out that their system was about to die to a dying star. With this ancient alien being the only surviving being of their race as they narrowly escaped the destruction with the tech in question after, initially, prepping to showcase it but was too late. Really called out the whole dying star angle the moment I pieced a few things from the early parts of the video and how it's odd that after 1999 no more new data came in. At least for the time being.
