There's a lot of different methods for lucid dreaming, if you don't do the WILD one he talked about you can avoid it. So if that's what's stopping you try something else out! (FILD is a good one that he doesn't mention here.)

@@davidmacphee3549 I didn't remember as much of my dreams as I did when I was a child but my dreams tend to be very vivid, so much so that you can't make the difference while you are in a dream. How I usually get that I'm dreaming is through my kinetic sensors, I feel my body/limbs being in different positions or states of contraction/relaxation than that of the oniric phase. It's a really freaky sensation and I'm thankful that it is not very frequent.

This is a very common problem, at first when you here a lucid dream, try to contain yourself because otherwise you're dream will get blurry and you will wake up. If it's happens just try little tricks like twirling or say: STAY LUCID! And don't try to fly right away, just keep calm until you're sure your dream is stabilized😊

Can someone let me know what this is? On school mornings, my mom usually walks into my room and tells me to wake up. Sometimes I'm so tired that I barely hear her and just barely wake up. Next, when I'm laying there in bed half awake and half asleep, I keep trying to tell myself to get up to change. Next, my brain starts to imagine myself getting up changing and getting ready for school. This usually ends when my mom barges in again yelling at me that I should really wake up. It feels so real though...

1. Best time to lucid dream is waking up early morning or in the middle of the night, which happens to me a lot 2. When in sleep paralysis: relax, bite your tongue, breathe harder, or just use your imagination and strong will to try and control the dream again 3. Lucid dreaming is hella fun!! For sleep paralysis, to get out of the dream, I’ve tried moving, screaming, crying, (in my dreams to awaken myself) and it never works. I used to have a dog and he’d nudge me and that would be enough to wake me. I’ve felt like my throat was so sore and I’d have tears down my face but apparently no sound? So strange. How do others get out of sleep paralysis? I’d love to know, esp ones where you’ve needed something external to wake you up.

I guess I've been performing the WILD technique for years now without even knowing what it was. Often when I go to bed I have a lot of trouble sleeping and just keep my eyes closed for a long time without achieving sleep. Then my body will start to feel strange, I'll start hearing unusual noises and seeing flashes of light. Then my body just goes completely cold. The only thing I can move are my eyeballs. I have known what sleep paralysis is for a while now, and I have had it since I was 16. But I had no idea I was the one inducing it unknowingly. At first it was extremely frightening. It felt like there was a presence right next to me but I couldn't directly look at it, and sometimes I could see a dark figure sitting on my chest, keeping me from getting up. The amazing thing is that once I researched and found out why sleep paralysis really happens, the experiences turned quite pleasant. I realized it's merely a defense mechanism, and since your body is paralysed but your brain is awake, your subconscious comes up with its own explanation. This is why some people think they are being abducted or raped. Your brain attributes what's happening to an outside force, a ghost or a monster. However, once you know for a fact what is really going on, you realize there is nothing to fear and the frightening images go away. It's all in the mind. Information really is freedom. Ever since, it has turned into an enjoyable experience. My body does become paralyzed but the hallucinations can be pretty cool. One time I could swear there was light rain in my room. Sometimes I experience auditory hallucinations that are fascinating but impossible to describe. It's like drugs on demand. Anyway, my question is, how am I supposed to turn that into a lucid dream? The video didn't go into much depth on that topic.

The Chief Of The Kief just keep your eyes closed, and focus on your breathing. Come up with a place you want to be and imagine every detail, just keep on doing that until the dream solidifies, then acquaint yourself with the place your in. This is at least how I manage to turn SP into a lucid dream. 😊

As in, feeling your body falling asleep while your mind is still awake, and falling into a lucid dream (Wake Initiated Lucid Dream right ?) Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not compltely sure of what I'm saying. I didn't mean to troll or to offend ayone really !

Sleep paralysis is nuts man you can't move or do anything and you see things like you're in the hospital and in coma or a devil or a lion approaching you and trying to kill you but you can't move or feel like you want to wake up and walk but can't and sometimes you even walk but after that you will realize it's just a dream sleep paralysis is not good I had it so many times that I don't want it anymore it scares the shit out of you. You can't even know the difference between dream or reality it feels like you're dead and you would be dying to get up but can't this is very terrifying believe me

I've been doing this type of stuff since 2003, I'm pretty damn good at it.. Now I’m just trying to find out if there is a link within the dream world.. So... if you have a dream with a total stranger in it, try to ask them for their contact info, such as full name, location of residence, email address, phone number, etc. Then ask them for some personal private info such as their pets name, remember it and log it once you wake up.. then try to search the net for that information. I've not had a good success rate with this, but I’m still trying. If I ever do find a link and talk to that person and provide the right personal information that would not be obtained by public means, then I would have proven that the link does exist and we are all connected with-in a dream when we dream of others.

It's interesting, but i saw somewhere that your brain doesn't make or mix faces. So all the 'strangers' you see, are just people you've seen in a mall or train or something public. Don't know if it's true, but it kinda makes sense. But if it happens to be that you met a complete stranger in your dream and talk an stuff like that and you do find him on the internet, then tell me. I'm really interested :).

I had this one dream where I was at my grandparents house and we were watching tv but the key to this dream was the fact that it was so clear, so clear to the point where I felt I was actually there and I thought it was reality. Like in the dream I even began to question as to whether this was a dream. Like I asked my grandparents if this was a dream and they just gave me a weird look and continued watching the tv. And then I poked my brother to see what would happen and he reacted normally and smacked my hands out of the way. It felt so real and then literally a second later my phone goes off with someone calling. If I had like an extra 10 seconds I would've figured it out lmaoo.
@Cortalian

Midnight Esperanza I would have been very annoyed if that happened to me, the whole phone thing ending the dream early. I remember one of my creepier dreams, if you don't mind me sharing, you can just stop reading if you don't want to know it. I had at the time recently played the "Deep Sleep" series, and when I had actually fallen asleep, I was in a very large room with a single television. Other than the T.V., there was no light in the room, anything beyond about 20 feet of the T.V. was that kind of darkness that you can kind of see things but not fully. There were doors all across the walls, with stairs leading to every one, they were also all closed. On the stairs were the creatures from the "Deep Sleep" series of games. I was quite familiar with the environment, having visited it numerous times in the past, thought it was the first time that I had ever encountered those creatures, all they did was look at me, which was even creepier. I have kept hoping to revisit that area and open one or more of the doors, they might lead to some old memories for all I know.

I had a similar experience except mine was a nightmare. My house was possessed by ghosts (I don't remember many details since it was long ago) and in the dream I kept asking myself if i was dreaming, because I found it so unrealistic. However, it felt so real and vivid. I remember in the dream I wanted to test myself to see if it was real or not so I felt my couch which had an unusual texture, and I could literally feel it! After that I was like "shit this isn't a dream" lol so it was pretty scary

Sleep paralysis is a safety mechanism used by your body to prevent you from hurting yourself while you sleep. When we stay perfectly still and relaxed for 15 minutes, our bodies go into shut down mode and it falls asleep. When you sleep, you dream, and when you're in a dream, you can move as you would in real life, when you sleep, your brain diss ambles you muscles and paralyzes them in order to prevent you from acting out your dream, imagine if you're having a lucid dream and you jump out of a balcony in the dream, if sleep paralysis didn't happen you would actually jump out of the balcony while you're sleeping, and die. So don't try to prevent sleep paralysis from happening, without it, we would most likely die or get really hurt, in some people this mechanism doesnt work and they sleep walk, something you have probably heard of. Normaly when you sleep your mind falls asleep with your body, but you can keep you mind awake, while your body sleeps, if you wake up, and you cant move, one way to stop sleep paralysis in the shortest time is to take a deep breath (slowly) hold it for half a second, and release (slowly) keep repeating until you can move, when you sleep you dont breath deeply, instead you take small, consistent breaths, when your brain recognizes the change In the breath pattern, it realizes your awake, and stops sleep paralysis, hope this helped.

+Kuroe Kagami I began little lucid dreaming as a young child, back when I had an age where you have a lot of nightmares and sleep a lot (resulting in less deep sleeping and more "rememberable" dreaming). I learned enyoing a dream that became lucid, _especially_ if it initiated a nightmare. In my early lucid dreams, I was still not very self-confident and tried the emotional way: I told myself the "monsters" (which sometimes looked very similar to darleks - back then I didn't know Doctor Who though o.O) couln't harm me and started fouriosly fighting them - it worked, I either won or woke up pretty soon. Later, I was safe from nightmares if I somehow, mostly after a lot of misguided trial and error (About 12 or 13 years ago, I had a dream where I basicly thought I woke up for like 20 times in a row), managed to make a dream lucid. It's just a matter of mentality.

Please reply if any of you have had an experience like this: When I was about 11, maybe 10, I was sleeping in my moms bed next to her because I was afraid of being alone in my room. I kind of drifted into reality a little bit and remember reading the clock. It was 3 something in the morning. The weird thing was this; I remember being asleep, yet watching the clock, rapidly counting up. Like a timelapse. I remember seeing the darkness go from brightness from the rising sun. I remember the exact time it stopped at; 7:34 AM, sunrise. I had just watched 4 hours go buy in the timespan of about 10 seconds. As soon as I woke up I felt like I had just had the best sleep of my entire life. For the rest of the day I felt extremely happy and it seemed like I had the capabilities to do anything I wanted. I swear on everything that this is an absolute true story.

The worst thing about WILD and trying to self induce you into sleep paralizis: is not only that it is torture, but when u actually do it you feel like you lost control of your breath and cannot breathe. This does occasionally cause me to panic and break the sleep paralizis before getting to dreaming.

@Sarinmoon
10 жыл бұрын
Sleep paralysis is only at the moment scary. You should never be afraid of something that is in the moment scary. You should be afraid of smoking, because that can kill you, but sleep paralysis is natural and has no permanent side effects. So unless you choose to change your mentality about it, there is nothing to it. Nothing is different after experiencing such a scare unless you self decide to be afraid of it, in which case you have gotten a temporary side effect from something that was just a little scary. Throw it away. Even if you are gonna experience this sleep paralysis over and over again, it is only gonna be as bad as you think it is. There are many who understands their situation, because they are often doing wild or other stuff like that, and can comprehend and understand that there is nothing to be afraid of and after a while: not being afraid while experiencing sleep paralysis comes as a second thing. Don't be afraid, rather embrace it to win over your subconcious fear or selfafflicted mentality towards it.

@Sarinmoon
10 жыл бұрын
Nathan Hayes actually its more common trauma causes bad assosiations with sleep paralysis and not the other way. There is not many cases where experiencing something as natural as sleep paralysis have given trauma, trauma is a big word. Sleep paralysis can easily be coped with, if you have the right mentality towards it. Traumas comes when "there is frequently a violation of the person's familiar ideas about the world and of their human rights, putting the person in a state of extreme confusion and insecurity. This is also seen when people or institutions, depended on for survival, violate or betray or disillusion the person in some unforeseen way." Traumas are often caused by something real, and can be caused by physical traumas too. Sleep paralysis is real, but everything you experience through it is fake. Just like a bad dream, but different. A nightmare can also be scary, but there is very few cases where a nightmare or experiencing sleep paralysis has caused trauma. Only if a person has a strong "extremely self-injuring" mentality towards it, one can actually develop traumas to sleep paralysis. Atleast in concept. Be careful before you use such a strong word as trauma (psycological meaning). :)

I had a dream in a dream once. Well, for starters, I was watching a video in the bedroom.( I was actually NOT!) because apparently I was having a dream, so I was wide awoke for an hour or so. Then I fell asleep, I woke up AND I WS STILL in a dream, so eventually that continued for a really long time, I kept seeing a video that was normal and really good. and comments that looked normal, too. But eventually I stopped dreaming, and I the video apparently doesn't exist. And thats weird cause it looked so real. That didn't make sense to you, did it? Here's some dreams I have had. I believe I have been playing too much of my favorite game... Once I had a dream where I was inside a capsule for all of eternity, forever, and ever and ever, Due to the 'oxygen system" My body didn't age well, so I started to rot, craving to wake up. Eventually, I woke up. "Well I guess i'll just tell nobody about this except the internet!"

+Pernille Paludan-Allen Also you have to watch out what you think to yourselft because unconscious brain doesn't have logic. Great example is when you forget something and try to recall it and you say to yourself "I can't remember this". Your brain thinks it's a command and forgets it completely. Instead you should say to yourself "I will recall it in a second. I know I remember this." The same thing here. Don't piss off at yourself while lucid dreaming because while lucid dreaming you have almost direct access to your unconscious brain, and it's like swearing at some person directly or screaming in their face. Your unconscious brain is like separate person and when you get pissed at yourself the brain is going to do the opposite of what you say. It is all because unconscious brain doesn't understand language, it doesn't understand "no" and "don't", and it doesn't understand jokes.

I practiced the wake up in the middle of the night method, here's how it went So I did the repeating "i'm going to have a lucid dream tonight" and I hear a PSHHHHHH on both of my ears almost like they switched channels or something. Then I feel like i'm falling. I'm like "HOLY COW I'M IN A DREAM" in my dream, which was actually me saying it in my head. I could feel my body in my dream too. Anyways I saw 360 Degree view of the Tantive IV, which is a spaceship from starwars. Then I switch to see myself facing a pink screen. So i'm like, "Okay Michael think disney world not scary" Then I think of scary so I see like the most scary picture of disney world. I start moving my hands in real life and i'm like "Oh my god I need to get out of this wake up" So I wake up, in my basement with a bunch of garden lights in it. I'm like "This can't be good" so I go to sleep in that dream to wake up in real life realizing what felt like 2 minutes was actually 2 hours and not sleeping for the rest of the night,

Same thing. I just had this dream where we went on a school field trip and for some reason they were showing us a yet to become battle ground and only the head of the army was there explaining to us what his strategy was. Then something goes terribly wrong and the other army attacks earlier. Starting with an Arab dressed guy on a horse with a kopesh (An old/weird, long curved sword)Right behind us is this HUGE sand-mountain thingy;and no it wasn't a sand dune it was MUCH bigger.And I won't get onto details or else this story will take forever. So we start climbing with army coming after us. So the first guy we saw was already up the hill right behind us and the rest of the army is down the hill. Suddenly I have this weird feeling that if I jump off the sandy mountain God will save me and I won't die, so I run to the edge of the huge hill and throw myself off. While I'm going down I'm praying and suddenly I'm on the desert floor safe and unharmed so basically my best friend and I sprint
