BoCo having the same name and number as that one person? Well that can add to whole revenant theory of non faceless vehicles or it could be just a coincidence. I do like how this ties into some events of Stories of Sodor.

Item #: SCP-071-S Object Class: Euclid Special Containment Procedures: Due to the nature of the SCP, the area in which it is located is to be cordoned off in a multi-kilometer radius, with patrols preventing any unauthorized personnel from entering the area. Any unauthorized personnel that make it past the initial perimeter are to be captured, questioned and released with proper amnestics administered to them. Description: SCP-071-S appears to be the entrance to an old mine in the Culdee Fell region of the island of Sodor in the British Isles, with Ancient Sudrian writing on the top cross beam, which has been translated (See Addendum ). When a human or other life form enters the SCP's entrance, the effects of the anomaly are made known. A loud noise, described as an 'inhuman wailing' is easily audible and immediately after, an entity (Henceforth known as an instance of SCP-071-S-1) rushes out of the SCP and into the open skies above, disappearing shortly after. The SCP was first discovered by the Foundation after an emergency call was placed to the local law enforcement by a local hiker, reporting that their friend had entered the anomaly and did not come out, and instead, a wispy entity appeared to exit after a distinct noise was heard. Agents imbedded in local law enforcement agencies contacted the Foundation immediately and agents rushed to the area, cordoning off the anomaly in its current containment area. In order to fully understand the anomaly and its properties, testing with D-Class as per standard procedure. A radar system was also set up to attempt to see the anomalies on radar. Test Log 071-S (Testing approved to understand the effects or actions of the anomaly in question): Test 1: D-7426 was ordered to enter the SCP's entrance, despite initial protests, the D-Class complied. Approximately 3 seconds after crossing the threshold of the entrance, a noise, described as a 'wailing' was heard by all on-site personnel. Immediately after, an instance of SCP-071-S-1 flew out of the anomaly and into the skies above. Results: The radar failed to register the presence of SCP-071-S-1, with no malfunctions present. The entity however, was later found to have manifested into a physical form. In a nearby railway yard, a non-faceless GER Class C53/LNER J70 Tram Engine named Toby encountered the entity, who he identified as the former stationmaster of Elsbridge, Alexander Jeffries, despite him being dead for over a decade. The entity entered an argument with Toby until it suffered a heart attack and died shortly thereafter. The engine and his crew called the authorities and Foundation agents in the area were notified. All witnesses as well as the Tram Engine and his crew were all given Class-B Amnestics. A later autopsy revealed the resurrected Jeffries' body had no abnormalities in his blood, bones, organs and other tissues aside from his heart, which had failed leading to the Heart attack. Notes: The results of this experiment lead to the discovery of the true effects of the anomaly and the identity of the anomaly was subsequently identified by Dr Hadley (See addendum ). The discovery of the effects of SCP-071-S lead to further testing of the anomaly and other potential information regarding the anomalous effects. Test 2: D-5702 was approached by Dr Hadley before the test and asked a few questions before the commander-in-chief of the operation, Dr Pierce ordered D-5702 to follow the same instructions as D-7426. D-5702 complied, but stopped for a moment and told Dr Hadley his name, Bobby Cooper, before entering the entrance to SCP-071-S. As expected, the same sequence of sounds and an instance of SCP-071-S-1 flew in the same direction. Results: The radar adjustments did not pick up any trace of the entity, which was not found after. (Results of experiment changed, see Addendum ) Test 3: D-2847 was ordered to enter SCP-071-S similarly to other D-Class, but refused at the last second and tried to run, but was gunned down. Results: N/A Test 4: D-9273 was ordered to enter SCP-071-S similarly to other D-Class and complied, entering and triggering effects of SCP-071-S. Results: Adjustments failed to pick up entity as before, Entity not found. Addendum 071-S 1: Testing in this method continues for 4 years as the 05 council begins to believe that all options with the anomaly were exhausted and operations regarding SCP-071-S should cease, with Foundation Personnel to move on to other potential anomalies on Sodor. Dr Hadley however, noticed something that caught her attention before going to SCP-071-S's containment area. Specifically with the recently acquired non-faceless Metropolitan Vickers Type 2, also known as a British Rail Class 28, meant to run on the main line on Sodor. She saw the number D5702 printed on the side of the non-faceless vehicle and a subsequent questioning of the non-faceless vehicle named BoCo was initiated. (See Transcript below) Interview transcript between BR Class 28, named BoCo, Dr Pierce, Dr Hadley and Agent Potter, head of security of Foundation Sodor operations. BoCo: Can I help you? Dr Pierce: We have a few questions we would like to ask you, D5702. BoCo: Okay, but only if you use my name. Dr Hadley: It's BoCo, right? Is that short for something? BoCo: Yeah, Bobby Cooper. (Dr Hadley, Dr Pierce and Agent Potter all look at each other in varying degrees of surprise and shock.) BoCo: What? Dr Pierce: Can you remember anything before your first firing? BoCo: How could I remember something that happened before I was alive? Dr Pierce: Was that a yes, or a no? BoCo: No. Dr Pierce: Have you ever been to prison? BoCo: No, I've stayed out of Railgate. Dr Pierce: I didn't say Railgate. I said prison. BoCo: Where else do they send problem engines? (Dr Pierce sighs) Dr Pierce: Do you feel like you've been here before? BoCo: You mean Sodor? Dr Pierce: D57-! (Dr Pierce clears his throat) I mean, BoCo, answer my questions without asking your own. And yes, do you feel like you've been on Sodor before? BoCo: No. Dr Pierce: Have you ever worked for any organizations other than British Railways? BoCo: No. Dr Pierce: Do *we* look familiar to you at all? BoCo: No. Dr Pierce: Are you absolutely sure? BoCo: Yes, I'm sure! Why are you asking me all these-! Wait, hang on! What's the time? Agent Potter: 9:15. BoCo: Oh no! I'm late to pick up the Express! I got to go! (BoCo's engine starts up, spluttering and banging as expected of a BR Class 28) Dr Hadley: You might want to have someone take a look at your engine first. It doesn't sound too good. BoCo: That's because it doesn't work. Like the rest of me. I'm a failure... (BoCo rolls away to pick up the Express as he said.) End of recording. This is a rare case which proves the Revenant Theory, the explanation for non-faceless vehicles which says that all of them are the reincarnations of deceased humans. Addendum 071-S 2: The text above the entrance to SCP-071-S was successfully translated by Dr Hadley to the following: "If life enters before it's time, the dead will return." Thanks in part to a comment made by Agent Potter, referring to the resurrected Jefferies 'returning'. This also lead Dr Hadley to realize that the SCP in question was the same supernatural item referred to as "The Path of the Dead." Mentioned only in the legend of King Godred. It is believed to have been built by shamans who wanted to explore the afterlife. This offended the spirits, which cursed the path. Whether this is true or not, remains a mystery to this day...

NOTE: My thoughts here will contain some spoilers so if you haven't watch the whole episode, please make sure that you do before commenting. And it begins. I've been wondering what that cave was for a long while now, since the episode Mountain. I questioned what could be the thing that was "better to be left alone" and now knowing the answer, I wasn't expecting that. Let's start things off with the main characters of Dr. Gwen Hatley, Dr. Pierce, Dr. Angus Murphy and Agent Gavin Potter. I really love the characters you’ve come up with, I like how Gwen and Angus have a good mutual relationship with them agreeing their morals towards the D Class, compared to Dr. Pearce and Agent Potter who don't have that same mortality. Gwen is also quite the character herself, she has a wonderful personality with love for the history of Sodor that makes her fitting for the foundation. Dr. Pearce isn’t friendly but is reasonable, he reminds me of Mr. Star quite a bit and Agent Potter and Dr. Pierce are great too, I like their contrasting personalities. So the main event being the cave. The Path of The Dead, “If life enters before its time, the dead will return”. That is interesting, certainly interesting and seeing it played out gave a really good mysterious aspect to it all. It was surprising to see Stationmaster Jeffries return before passing away from another heart attack again but the big surprise that BoCo was originally human and instead of another someone returning from the dead, he was reincarnated into an engine instead. That gave me a shock, that was certainly intriguing, even more intriguing that it connects to the convo that he was talking to Henry about in Secrets. Very interesting, indeed! The ending was quite a shock too. This was great! And it makes me interested in seeing the others in the next few weeks! Only thing I can say for feedback would be the close up of the people, I know it’s limited since they don’t have much expression but it’s really hard to understand what they’re thinking or what expression they're supposed to have unless you look at the visual and hear what they’re saying very closely. It’s a bit awkward too. Pacing is okay at some parts, some of it is a little bit too fast at some points but nothing major. Overall, it’s an excellent start! Very interesting! Looking forward to seeing the others when they’re released.

I was a bit thrown by the Futhark runic alphabet, as I was by (minor spoiler) the different writing system in the next episode, but it did get me thinking. From ~1000 BC to 1000 AD, most residents of the British Isles were Celts (although this changed toward the end of this period), but foreign sailors would make port there too: Phoenician and (later) Punic traders, or at least people who traded with them, got tin from mines in Cornwall. Then came the Romans, and then the various Germanic tribes. Given the position of Sodor and its productive mines, it would make perfect sense that traders would visit, and where goods are traded, so are practices and ideas. With that in mind, it makes sense that different scripts could be used in different periods. If we're talking the latter half of the first millennium BC, it'd be too early for Runic; writing would probably be based on the Punic alphabet or one of the ancient Iberian scripts (the alphabets and hybrid-alphabet/abugidas used by various ancient cultures in what's now Spain and Portugal). If we're talking after the Roman invasion until the 400s AD or so, it'd likely be the Latin script - but it'd look all weird, full of lines and about as easy to read as cursive Cyrillic (which is a godawful pain!). Finally, if it's 400-900 AD, then yes it could be Runes, but it could also be Ogham, a dot-and-line script used primarily for early Irish. Of course, the ancient Sudrians could have created their own writing system, but that wouldn't be as practical as using or adapting a pre-existing script.

Interesting story. You certainly got the feel of the SCP right. As well as accurate I might add. Given the timeline, this feels like a younger, less experienced, and a bit cockier Foundation, that “played god” even though there were consequences to their actions. Before the formation of the Ethics Committee, or MTF Mu-13 “Ghostbusters” (Yes the Foundation has their own Ghostbusters) hence the lack of concern or compassion to D-class or concern of letting ghosts out after they realized what it’s capable of, as well as the lack of equipment to track ghosts

Jesus christ! This was amazing. Boco having the same number as the prisoner was likely a coincidence, but the chills I got after every spectre coming out of that were quite real. But this does add to the whole thing of nonfaceless engines, and why very few occured under BR, since the only people to enter the cave would've been from the SCP. And despite the fact that these may not be canon, I'll still count them as such. Just gotta remember to not watch these at night if they're gonna be this scary. But I also kinda wonder something else now. Were Henry and Emily actually a couple that got killed in the past, and their relationship moved on to being nonfaceless engines? Or is that just another coincidence?

Fantastic job as always Victor, joining together so many references and details from previous seasons and making such excellent content from them. My question is does the dead that return stay or do they just appear only to relive their death again at the same location and with the same person/engine that was around them? Cause I would love to see Mr Star, the wellsworth & suddery engines and Andreas again.

Edward going “I’m just sad I couldn’t ask Toby” with a sad face got me concerned he’s gonna end up kicking the bucket at some point ngl.

It probably also means that Edward couldn't ask him because the Foundation erased his memory of the Jeffries incident.

I’m thinking that BoCo was just a very surprising coincidence but the living bringing back the dead is definitely what’s happening. I’m interested in seeing what the follow up with Dominic will be, if there is one. Will the SCP return? Will Dominic find out he was dead already and die again? Does that affect that his ghost already came back? So many places you can go with this mini-series and I’m so excited to see where you take it!

Holy freaking sh!t... I was definitely excited for this series, but after this episode my hype is through the roof. I know that in canon this is all hypothetical, but it all makes too much sense to me not to be true. Victor you freaking genius you've outdone yourself... 😍

Victor you’ve done it again well done. 👍🏻 This was an outstanding start to this new mini series. I was shocked and surprised with everything that was revealed about The Cave and Boco, alongside the return of Jeffries and Dominic and also the implication that The Revenant Theory is now 100% true. In fact if Bobby Cooper becomes Boco could that mean the man who entered the cave at the beginning who was named Rocky will eventually reincarnate as Rocky the crane at some point or am I just overthinking this? Really excited for the next video or in this case the next SCP entry.😃

I’m curious if someone will make a detailed SCP wiki page on these, just to mess with people who are looking for a joke SCP but instead find a legitimate research log that’s only a joke because it’s a fictional SCP…..like fictional in terms of SCP canon
