Ready to make some oat milk? It's easier than flipping a pancake!
Ingredients:
1 cup rolled oats
4 cups water
A pinch of salt
Optional: 1 tbsp maple syrup or vanilla extract for sweetness
Instructions:
1. Soak the oats overnight in water. This step neutralizes the phytic acid in the oats, activating beneficial enzymes that enhance the nutritional value of the milk by increasing the vitamins and minerals your body can absorb.
2. Blend the soaked oats and water on high speed for about 30 seconds. Be careful not to overdo it to avoid turning it into oatmeal!
3. Pour the blend into your linen nut milk bag over a large bowl.
4. Squeeze the bag thoroughly to extract all the creamy milk, leaving the pulp behind.
5. Add a pinch of salt and perhaps some maple syrup or 2-3 dates if you prefer a sweeter taste.
6. Refrigerate and enjoy within 3-4 days.
