this is great, thank you. I often throw this way in my normal direction from a double lapel grip. high % success throw.

Too many instructions divide the throw into 3 parts . Beginners have hard time putting it together smoothly . This video doesn’t have this problem

Your videos are great. What city do you teach in? I visit Japan every few months and and maybe I’ll stop by. I’m fluent in Japanese
I just found your channel and it's wonderful! I'm still a beginner in Judo (Judo Yellow Belt BJJ Purple Belt) and I'm often getting into a "left hand post" situation but struggling to pull of this Seoi Nage, so this video is very useful. I struggle with the posture for Seoi in general but you've described some of the steps differently here and I'm excited to try it. I don't mean that you're telling me to do something different than my Sensei, but you've explained some of the steps in a different way and I think I can see some mistakes I was making. So thank you, I'm so glad you took the time to make these!

Gyaku Ichi! I have a version that works very well but gets me yelled at by my sensei all the time. After I clamp their armpit with my elbow pocket, I lever my arm forwards and wit my hand flat (like waving "hello") I tuck my pinky inside their elbow just as I pop my hips up. This locks their upper arm with mine and does not allow it to slip out because their bicep is trapped between my wrist and my shoulder. He wants me to use a version more like what you show here but I will try the pinky trick; maybe he doesn't know it. I also love this from right kumite with an armpit pocket grip like Ono or Inoue used. Keep the videos coming!

Awesome content ! (I also post with another account : "jongler") I have been practicing this throw for 6 months. My biggest problems are : - what to do if the opponent catches your free right hand ? ( you cannot do the turn-throw anymore ) - what other techniques can you do FROM this grip ( to mix things up ) I am working on it... but if you had any hints, I would gladely hear them. Thank you as always for your free and incredible content. Matthieu

@MatthieuSCHREK Thank you always🖐️ It's difficult to do this when your opponent is holding the HIKITE. Set up while competing for HIKITE. I think it will be easier to set up IPPONSEOI by moving OUCHI and TSURITE. Please refer to this video. kzitem.info/news/bejne/qquvm5qBpayVlqAsi=MR4hHe8n6KF5IM4g

@@fluidjudojapan Thank you very much for your kind reply. I have just watched the Ouchi video. It is very good. My specific problem is because I am a righty, and I grab the left lapel, as explained in this video by Travis Stevens : kzitem.info/news/bejne/jouNnHuqkmaQrZw I guess it is very unorthodox, so I will have to figure out things on my own. I will take your advices to heart, though : "Set up while competing for HIKITE", okay.

@@fluidjudojapan lol I see. Usually people put their right foot forward and lean forward to stop it too. Osoto-gari seems like a good answer but if you can't get the high right lapel grip it won't happen. Ko-uchi also looks good but I suck at it. Unfortunate as it seems like the best answer to someone resisting seoi nage.
