The art of listening is an awesome idea. Very seldom accomplished. I remember my mom saying to me. God gave you two ears and one mouth for a reason. It’s to listen more than you speak.

What? The guy who can tune a saw by ear in ten seconds knows how to adjust a truck choke/carb too? Craziness! 😄 As a 15 year maintenance tech that was my first thought, adjust it so it works right. Good job Buckin. Now nobody has to tell you to hold the pedal close your left eye and turn your hat backwards to start it. Keep em coming. 👍

I come to your channel for inspiration on kindness, love, faith and belief in my fellow man. The axes and saws are killer, but the icing on the cake is listening to you play the drums! If John Bonham were alive, he would be proud of you Billy Ray!..A small tour of your drums in the future would be great if you wouldnt mind sharing.

There's a fast idle screw on the choke, when I was taught to do a tune up it consisted of removing each spark plug, then check compression on each cylinder, install new plugs, then connect engine to our analyzer, check the plug wire firing patterns, then adjust carb air fuel mixture, and set the choke fast idle to specs. That's when a tune up meant something. Good job Buckin .

A guys just gotta have high idle in the cold weather, and a functioning choke. I’ve dealt with many electric chokes and in my opinion they don’t work correctly and I always end up deleting them and install a manual choke. Love the highboy bud!!!

Glad you got her fixed. Have you had that open style breather on other trucks? On my last built v8 I had a open breather for summer and the stock one that sucks hot air from by the exhaust manifold for winter, mine iced the carb up with the open breather anytime it was close to 0. It made more power with the open style but having it stall all the time sucked.

I'm all choked up...my old truck used to warm up so nice with the choke fully on. 5 minutes down the road, there would be black smoke flowing out from the exhaust and it would be running like crap and i would think the worst....😧. But then i would see i left the choke on, I'd push in the little black knob and zoom down the road i would go with the reliability of an old washing machine.

The infamous someone else worked on it first syndrome. Someone had the carb off and didn’t have a clue how to reinstall it. That’s the biggest problem I find on every used vehicle I have purchased. It is worst when they think they fixed one thing then moved onto the next possible cause and botched that up too, then got frustrated and sold it without disclosing what they messed with.
@stevejohnsonjr4544

once it fires off open the choke about a 1/4 inch then set your choke fast idle idle,then when you take choke completly off it will idle down, the way you have it it will load up and foul your plugs if you let it set for warm up.

Just a heads up, if anyone feels tremors in a week or so, it ain't not an earthquake. I was "voluntold" to try to do a wheelie on a wheel-chair.
