Thanks! I just did one and it was a pain in the butt. Unfortunately, no pegs no ball end. Finally bought guitar beads and ran the bridge end through them. That solved one problem. You just solved the other by showing a better way to get them neatly and efficiently wound up on the slotted head. Too bad I didn't see this first, because my end result was far from pretty!

Great video! The best $20 I've ever spent was an electric string winder! Simple switch to change direction - but ensures you are always going the correct direction. . The only slot-head I (currently) have is a 1969 Martin D12-20 (ugghhh) - maybe do a video on that?

Jeremy, how do you find the hole to put the string in if you cannot see the hole? This is especially problematic for the bare strings if they are the same color as the barrel. On solid head guitars, I can put a tooth pick in the hole. On slotted head guitars, the tooth pick goes right through. Please restring using a sleep mask (without using sight).
