Don't eat processed foods. Exercise. Meditate. MODERATION. There is TOO MUCH ADVICE on exactly what's healthy. I say KEEP IT SIMPLE. My mom is 94 years old. And very healthy. She eats sugar and bread. Exercises. She doesn't fuss about it. But she doesn't eat a lot and eats mostly non processed foods. And has a moderate amount of wine. Find what works for you!

Good work. Plant based diets are wonderful and it’s only in recent history that humans have consumed lots of meat and processed foods. Excessive meat consumption is killing the planet and people.
@ChicagoDeb
Жыл бұрын
@@whitneyanders5945 Meat-eating is "recent history"? LOL! That's true about processed foods (as well as their extremely detrimental effects), but not at all about meat/fish! Our ancient ancestors started out as hunter-gatherers and were so for an extremely long time, mostly hunting/fishing and gathering only the few edible and nonpoisonous plants that grew naturally (which were different in their types and numbers over the millenia). It wasn't until people stopped wandering/being nomadic as much and what we now call farming emerged did plant eating increase...but hunting/fishing was still always practiced, as that food provided (and still provides) much more in nutrients, good fats, and necessary amounts of protein (there were no vitamins/supplements and protein shakes/bars for that until recently history), and it could be obtained year-round and also preserved to be eaten if hunting/fishing was slower because of seasons/weather or other factors. All that said, everyone is different in their health and needs...a solely plant-based diet may work and can be "wonderful" for you and others but it can be insufficient/ineffective for others. As for your last statement...there are many people who eat a heavily or even solely carnivore diet (which is much more than just beef/red meat), even for many decades, and they're doing just fine and are extremely healthy (as was true for our ancient ancestors, obviously, since humans evolved and are still around). And it's not killing the planet, either (though some of our deplorable practices in raising the animals do have negative effects...as does our poisoning the soil/earth/plant seeds with pesticides and GMO practices). Please do some very serious research about such things (not limiting yourself to only people/results that say and support what you already think/believe)...especially before making (and believing) such generalized, "absolute" proclamations.

Hi Katie, to your question about having joint aches, what works for me is Fish Oil!!! Something as simple as that!!! I know that when I stop taking it, I can't get up in the mornings due to joint pain (knees, ankles, etc) Omega 3 oil. 1200 a day
ENERGY WORK to reenergize our electromagnetic body and release buried emotions, trauma in our internal organs, around and through our body, biofield. POTENT. Bonus: it lengthens our telomeres (VERY ANTI-AGING!!!).

I bought Marks last book, which made eating very complicated. Watch Dr. Jason Fung, a kidney specialist. He talks about keto and intermittent fasting. He provides studies that prove hours points and shows where our current thoughts (many which Mark expounds), are fallacious. Telling people to only eat sugar in moderation is pandering to the people who wouldn’t choose to totally give up sugar. Mark is selling books, sorry, no disrespect meant, just my opinion

Hi, Katie: I'm focused on age-appearance; therefore, I'm reasonably accurate at guessing one's age, regardless of their lifestyle. (Consistent sun protection is key!) Dr. Mark Hyman says he's 63. He looks 58. My humble advice to your viewers: Keep things simple. Protect your skin from the sun. Don't smoke. Eat veggies. Exercise regularly. Accept that you cannot change the world, yet make your corner of the world a better place:)

I take issue with the rich and famous telling others how to live their lives. As if people cannot possibly be living life correctly without them. And of course, you MUST buy their books, DVDS, take their courses and seminars, which of course makes them richer. The addiction to self-help also fills their bank accounts. Along with prayers and my Bible, I manage my life just fine by doing something absolutely scandalous: believing in, and thinking for myself.

@donnabardsen5372 I am a non-theist Quaker. Lovely that you get so much from your prayers and Bible, keep it up! Me thinks the lady doth protest too much... Hamlet quote. My religion teaches simplicity, I live on very little cash, so I don't even hear it when XCLLNT teachers offer DVDs books. Glad they impart what they have learned. You DON'T have to fall hook line and sinker from any "rich and famous" authors and buy anything!!! May want to review for yourself how much your pastor is asking/ guilt tripping you into putting in the collection plate each week. My G_d is never short of cash.

Socializing studies confuse correlation with causation. My severe IBS prevents me from socializing more, and I’m sure it’s not good for my lifespan. So its the opposite causation from what the studies purport to show. If you have chronic conditions you can’t socialize as much, but then you will obviously have a shorter life span. The medical profession prefers to blame patients rather than that they have no cure

Katie Couric strikes me as a very serious person at her core. She’s not a “He-He” or “Haw-Haw” type of individual. She’s not jocular or “Hail fellow, well met.” Being “bubbly” and “perky” is just an image, and only her “persona.” Actually, Katie strikes me as a super serious person. I like that a lot. Life has many serious components that one needs to take seriously. The question of aging, lifespan, and longevity, is a very serious topic that needs to be addressed with solemnity and gravitas. Dr. Hyman seems too “jokey” here.
