@@mrmtee The Union Jack is no more foreign than is our English language and our Westminster system of parliamentary governance with all its checks and balances and separation of powers. We do not change our surname just because we grew up and left our parent's home, and the Union Jack in a flag's canton is analogous to a surname; it shows the world our international family and shows the sort of free political system that we have inherited and function under, it shows our principles and values. Thousands of Australian men and women have fought, self sacrificed and died for the principles and values and the political system that our flag with its canton and stars represent. We are beneficiaries of their sacrifices. It is _not_ a foreign flag; it is _our_ flag.
