Great video! As for preventing diabetes, I wish more people would specify Type 2. I would do anything to resurrect my daughter's pancreas. Unfortunately, Type 1 Diabetes is a different animal (autoimmune disease, no cure). As for Type 2, diet can definitely help and quail are a great food source! We love them. Again, this is a wonderful video and will be sharing!

Ooh I had no idea that people allergic to chicken eggs do fine with quail, that's awesome! I just hatched my first babies yesterday. I don't think I'm allergic to chicken eggs but I had my gallbladder removed some years ago and ever since then I've definitely had some digestive issues with eggs. I'm even more excited now!

I have issues with gluten so i make my own dough If i want pasta a large egg makes me 4 servings sometimes i don't want to use that much Depending on the quail egg i use 1-2 and that's enough moisture for my own pasta Im really happy on the flavor They are quick to cook....i cook up 4 for me and i add a few more because the dogs want me to share lol My cat loves a fresh raw quail egg just his size :) I just tried pickling them because i have so many but the shells were being a pain A friend told me to boil them then put them into some vinager I used some of the boiled water mixed with vinager It worked to dissolve the shell so you just have the membrane to remove That made it much easier lol Thanks

I must start by saying that I do NOT have issues with either raising animals for food or harvesting them through hunting. To me, quails are not a meat bird I enjoy eating, and they are small. They are, however, a bird I am considering raising simply as ornamental livestock. I have kept other gamebirds such as pheasant and bantams. I love the Myshire channel and look forward to this new endeavor. Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you guys.

6:07 Quail needing just 3 to 3.5 square feet, vs. chickens needing 10, does *not* mean 30 to 35 times as many quail! It means more like 3 times as many. You're off an order of magnitude. Just picture it: a space 3' x 3'4" is right at 10 square feet. OK, put one chicken in that. Seems like a good space, maybe that is a bit high. But now picture putting 35 quail in that space. They'd be all over each other! Three or four quail in there, sure, but not 30, or 35.

I’m in Alaska and I’m very glad I started quail. I’ve tried chicken a few times but predators always seem to get them. ( I’ve used electric fences chain link you name it) Bears-destroy coups and cages chain link fences. Small predators coyotes, wolves, mink, martin eagles owls hawks or ermine. something gets them all. So I tried quail and great as I raise them inside my shop in stacked cages. They don’t make as messy as chickens and they produce year round. All I’ve done is left light on at night and eggs all year. For me it’s the perfect bird for conditions here. They are a very durable and productive bird😎😎. I love quail
