I don’t know who needs to hear this but I have to say. Just because your sibling dies, doesn’t mean that they get to dictate your entire life or that you have to live your life based on your dead sibling’s opinions. You can still mourn and love your deceased sibling while making your own life decisions.

The thought of an old white gay writing and directing a series of films that fridge a brown female character whose only personality trait is coercing her straight husband into replacing her with her brown twink brother feels festishy and misogynistic. And the fact that a character in one of these films describes the scenario as “hot” is just… icky to me.

Mother's carrying and birthing their grandchildren through egg transferring inherently isn't gross or unheard of. That's not incest and has actually been done a handful of times when the want to be mother can't carry kids herself. I haven't watched the video yet, but what would be gross is if it's the brother of the dead wife that inseminated the egg and his mother is the surrogate. Whole knew meaning to "keeping it in the family".

Every once in a while, you’ll talk about a movie where I think the elements of a truly good story are there and i’m mad cause i feel like this is one of those movies 😭 As someone who came into their sexual and gender identity at a young age and had the freedom to learn and research, I think the story of a newly formed queer couple where one is unsure of his identity while the other is unsure of what he wants for the future and both feel under pressure to figure things out asap to appease the other instantly, instead of in a way that satisfies themselves first has great potential as a story. (I’m ignoring the nastier aspects of the movie for the sake of this comment)
@Purloin

the only thing I can say is that it IS a thing and documented that a grandmother did play surrogate for her daughter and gave birth to her grandkids- eggs and all being her daughter's and her daughter's husband- because the daughter couldn't carry to term or give birth due to medical issues. (of course this happened in like 90s-00s. So that was perfectly excusable. IDK what this movie says but I know it's hella expensive for a surrogate.)
@TheDawnofVanlife
11 ай бұрын
Pretty sure it’s happened more than once. I find it less weird a mother basically carrying a child for her daughter who wants a child then all the b.s. that was going on in this movie where a man was pushed into a relationship with his dead wife’s sibling then also pushed into having children his dead wife wanted with the eggs she left behind to make it so.
@Purloin
11 ай бұрын
@@TheDawnofVanlife That's true. IDK what's going on with this movie. Also I think it would've been less weird if the relationship wasn't forced or rather we at least got to see why he chooses to stay. Or him getting to process anything instead of being pushed along into the next Plot Point (this feels like this should've been a series instead of movies because everything here needs more time to convince the audience of it.) Other hand, if it wasn't a hot Mess, it wouldn't be as much fun or funny in a 'I can't believe it' kind of way. (I would believe it if it came out in the 90s and 00s though.)

so I saw you uploaded this and immediately went to go watch it and here I am now with a couple of thoughts 1. when they where babysitting Milly I kept referring to her as Milly Bobby Brown and all I could think about was how she probably ran away because she's homophobic and can't accept that to men could be together 2. maybe I'm uneducated but I'm pretty sure the baby inside the mom is gonna turn out to be some type of incest baby, because its her daughters egg 3. there was a scene where Caden was getting into bed and he takes off his underwear but in the next scene he hops into bed with his underwear on and I chuckled 4. miss leukemia sally with her frozen eggs still manages to make me annoyed in the 5 seconds of dialogue she has in this movie and I truly believe that is a sign of a talented actress 5. while this movie does very little for the queer community I appreciate that they managed to make a story where one of the lovers is not an abusive asshole and one of them does not die. 6. there are a couple of instances where they begin or punctuate scenes with this baby music, that sounds like it came straight out of horror movie, especially because of the poor lighting and the weird amount time thats placed between the notes. I feel like im gonna get jump scared
