Nice to see you here! Loved your stuff on Headspace! I’m hoping though that you’ve watched the new Bridgerton series episode one because I believe that it needs a sexual assault TW because even though the couple in question is married it is VERY clear she doesn’t want to be there and there is no enthusiastic yes she simply has no other option! I’m really hoping that those with a voice in this area speak up about institutionalized sexual assault and how that can very much still be traumatic even if the victims are resigned to it! And it definitely needs a TW!

She's so well spoken, I love her. This video was fun! Maybe next time Hannah can ask her own quick question to the guest as well? So there's a bit more connection between the host and the guest.

Shan's advice is so awesome! Thanks for collabing again Hannah Gotta say though, my husband and I have had a quickie once in our entire relationship 😂 20 mins is our minimum because we like to take our time, but we've found racing to the "end" and then going back around to other things has helped us in the short time frames we have as parents.

21:00 As for the self-grooming (shaving, etc.) question, I'd like to add that we each have full bodily autonomy and can say No without having to explain or be pestered about it. Also, find out if what you're asking for is really "hygienic" or just misinformation. For example, a femme friend of mine had to explain to her brother that no, douches are bad because v are self-cleaning and are imbalanced by products, but it's wonderful that he wants to support his partner and make her comfortable, and he should ask her directly what she wants and needs. But, if you just don't like hair, you're going to eventually figure out that humans have hair and that's not a bad thing.
@looc_96

This! Also, if it's really a preference, not a deal-breaker, then that means you can live without it. If it's genuinely just a preference on one person's side, they should be able to not judge their partner's bodily choices. Example: I prefer sex when I'm not on my period, but if my partner is wanting to have sex when I'm on my period I'm not going to kick up a fuss and try to guilt them out of it because I enjoy it more when not on my period. Because it's a genuine preference, not something I have strong feelings against, I don't feel the need to remind people of it constantly because it might make them feel bad for asking when they don't need to. Same with body hair, unless you're really bothered by it (i.e. not a preference) you shouldn't keep bringing up that you prefer people without body hair because you may make your partner feel insecure or judged for no good reason.

I really enjoyed this video. There are things that I don’t necessarily agree with as is life. I think some of that may be a difference of culture/experiences so it’s really nice (and challenging) to hear some different perspectives. This isn’t hate at all. I appreciate hearing things different than my opinions.

Hi Hannah! I don’t know where else to go about this but the new Bridgerton series needs to have an assault TW on it but it doesn’t (because it doesn’t seem violent, but it definitely still is institutionalized assault because there is no mechanism to say no) I know you have addressed this before and hope you will do so again!

15:30 As someone who is often the slightly less 'driven' partner who still likes to initiate but feel I don't often get the chance before my partner does, maybe try having the more driven partner not 'allowed' to initiate for a little while and see what that brings out in the 'less driven' partner :-)

That basketball analogy was brilliant! Totally makes sense. I don't typically like to think of my interest in self/relationship development as a "hobby," but let's be real... that's exactly what it is. 😅 That was very helpful, thank you! Also, about the sex after baby question... what about if you're just not feeling it because of the hormonal changes associated with breastfeeding? I want to get back into the swing of things but, as the low libido partner before, now I feel practically asexual. Add to that some past sexual (little t) trauma and a tear during childbirth. 😥 I haven't watched the whole video yet, so I don't know if you addressed this. "Seven good minutes" sounds great, but the physical/mental blocks around sex means it's currently 20-30 minutes that ends in disappointment right now. 😔 Help! (Baby is 9 months, btw.)
@SomeoneBeginingWithI

(I haven't had a baby myself, I apologise if this isn't helpful. I'm basing this on my experiance with my partner who has a low sex drive and wasn't treated well in a previous relationship) Could trying other kinds of sex help? Maybe just using hands and mouths, rather than direct gential-gential sex? Maybe you could have your partner touch your clitoris and vulva, without going inside your vagina, if you don't want touch internally right now. If you don't want any sexual touch yourself, you might still get satisfaction emotionally from touching your partner, and then cuddling afterwards, so you still get the physical closeness and intimacy without having any touch you're not comfortable with. You might want to start off with cuddles with little or no clothing. If nothing else you can have the warmth and intimacy of skin to skin contact. See if either of you gets turned on, and if you do, what kinds of touch they might enjoy. If you don't want to be sexual on any particular day, that's okay. You don't have to do anything you don't feel ready for.

When I was struggling really badly with sexual trauma, my therapist advised me to just take sex off the cards. We weren't allowed to try anything sexual for a month. We were to focus on connection in whatever other way we wanted. We actually did the same around the time our daughter was 8 months old as I'd just miscarried. It really helped us because taking it off the cards as a choice means that the pressure comes off, and both times we ended up having sex before the month was up, but we both felt like it was something we wanted to just have fun with, rather than the pressure to fix things. I really hope this helps
