My grandmother (born German Ashkenazi and died naturalized American in Upstate NY), had always told us the shadow people were part of our soul drawn out of us through feelings of guilt and envy. Each visitation was said evil trying to absorb what remained of our soul into "the Darkness" and the only recourse was to "face the thief" and demand everything returned. She never really explained how to go about doing that. She smoked 1 to 2 packs of unfiltered a day and drank a shoulder of schnapps before bed every night and somehow lived to 92.

If you're in a dark place such a forest at night and you stare into the darkness beyond, you will see things that aren't there. I was taught this as a young military recruit in the 1970's. As a lover of camping and hiking in wild places later in life, I have demonstrated this to be true. Well, we all enjoy being a little frightened at times, it's why you're listening to this.

You think they told you that to keep you from freaking out? Because I legitimately seen one and it wasn’t fake and others who were somehow in fellowship with this entity- they talked to it. The one girl next door did a sex ritual and sold her soul to satan .. my life has been pure hell afterwards.. I’m a Christian- they targeted me . It’s crazy- but, these things are definitely real

You may see things, but you don't know if they're real or not. I've seen it both ways, figment of imagination || possible supernatural being, and convinced that's the truth if it. Sometimes they're real sometimes they're not. In Iraq at one of our outposts in a bombed out building there was one post, the one downstairs watching the front gate, that was absolutely terrifying at night. It started out as a one man post for 4 hour shifts, but quickly became double manned because of how creepy it was. We'd see and hear all sorts of things down there at night, and there wasn't a single person in my platoon that wasn't scared to stand that post at night, to the point where people would pay money to trade posts. The basement of.the building, in the very back corner of a pitch black parking garage was our ASP, an even more scary place. We put money together in a hat to see who could go furthest in without a light while others watched with nvgs. More than one of us felt things grab at our arms. I won the money because I got all the way to the back and almost around the corner before something grabbed at my gear. That's when I panicked and ran back. It was a good laugh at the time, but I gotta tell you, after that deployment was when I started getting sleep paralysis multiple times every night, everytime I slept for years, and with the sleep paralysis I started seeing shadow people, and I'd dream about this terrifying melted white wax faced monster watching me, impassive . It started with something that was just out of sight but I thought I could feel that it was there. I fought the sleep paralysis as hard as I could, but I couldn't beat it. My roommate in the barracks would hear me struggling to call out for help, so he'd shake me, and then I could move again. Eventually I started seeing them, the shadows, and I was plagued by them for a little over a decade. I thought I was crazy until my daughter saw one one night while in bed with me and my ex wife, a night I'd been awake all night watching one watch us. She described it perfectly, and I'd never said anything about them to her before that. That's honestly the only reason now that I believe I didn't just lose my mind. There's a lot more to the story, but I just wanted to make a point.. and that is they left me alone once I was able to convince myself they couldn't do anything but scare me. I believe they're real, and nothing will convince me otherwise. Telling someone they're not is not giving them the right equipment for the problem. Instead, people should be told that they might be real, we don't know for sure, but they probably can't hurt you and probably can't do anything but scare you if you let them.

@@hopeinjesus8289 My comment wasn't intended to upset anyone, merely to offer a possible rational explanation for some events described in this presentation, based on my own experience. In my 25 years in the British army I have no doubt that at times I was lied to but this phenomena wasn't one of them. If you are lying up in an ambush position or in a covert observation post you don't want to advertise your position, if you stare into the darkness at a fixed point you can begin to see movement If you convince yourself this is real and issue a challenge or worse open fire, you have just compromised your patrol. You can try this yourself next time you're in that environment, just pick a point in the darkness and stare. Because my views differ from yours, it doesn't mean that I'm saying you're wrong, merely that I tend to look for more natural explanations rather than supernatural.

Should share my own story with one of those Like 5 years ago, my bedroom was being given a fresh coat of paint, so for my safety, we moved my bed to the living room I had school the next day, so I was going to need to wake up early, in the big room Alarm sounds the next day, and I normally sit on my bed, until I notice it: Right in front of me, a shadow as tall as a young child, standing right in front of my bed. Since it had no features, I couldn't even tell if it was facing me, or away from me. I became paralyzed in terror sitting up, staring at that thing for what felt like five minutes, before I managed to snap out of it and hide under the blankets like the child I was I have never seen the shadow again. I know there was something there, I was looking at it right in front of me, not in the corner of my eye or from a distance. It didn't move and I never saw it in my house again.

I have never seen a shadow person and personally I find it a little bit hard to believe in them. not saying there is no way for this phenomenon to exist. BUT I had a period in my life, where I had ultra scary encounters with an all black entity, during "sleep paralysis" and it basicly did what you say in the video. it pressed my down onto the bed. I don think that over centuries, people can have the very same "dream". this is real... and between the age of 3-4 I saw a group very tall, dark, hooded figures, without faces, that used to surround me most of the time but only inside my parents appartment. thanks for the upload, Pinnso =)

Saw my first shadow being at 10 or 11 years old, but back then i didn't know what they were. It was much more recently (some 3 years ago) that they started to visit regularly, to the point of staying resident in my house. Today i live among them and it has become quite normal. There's always at least 1 with me, even when i leave home (they use my body as a medium environment, sometimes exit briefly but always return fast). They have the same bodily functions of a normal human, they breathe and have heartbeats, and for some reason hiss a lot. They walk the house mostly in invisible form, but sometimes as fast shadows too.

I was around that age, maybe about 9 at the time. But it wasn't a humanoid shape i saw. Which makes this whole thing more confusing for me because nowhere ever has anyone else mentioned an experience like what i had. I've experienced a lot of strange things, but this always stood out to me. What happened was, and I'm keeping this short here. I had this nice wooden alarm clock which aside from just looking good the face also lit up. I liked it because it was like a night light or at least made it possible to find my way to the bathroom. Kept it up high on top of the dresser. Then at some point, my father gave me these deer antlers which were made up in such a way that they could be mounted to a wall. But being young, i just put them up on top of the dresser along with the alarm clock. This one night though. I looked across the room in front of me, and i noticed that the shadow of the deer antlers. It was moving on its own. Nothing else was moving, not the clock or the antlers, but their shadow was really waving around very clearly. It was similar to like tentacles, where each piece went in it's owm direction and stretched out. I had no idea what to make of it, i thought maybe this is bad, but i didn't really know what to do. So i stared at it for a while, probably like 10 minutes i watched this happening. Every once in a while I'd look at the rest of the room and at the dresser, everything looked normal so i looked back and it was still going. It eventually faded out and returned to normal, motionless like usual. Never did that again. Nevet saw anything like it since. I don't know what i was watching that night but i know i saw it.

@@derealized797 That's a little weird for sure. Well, it's not impossible for a shadow to dance around, on its own, even if the object is still. All it takes is a moving source of light (like a passing car) but if it did that for 10 minutes i think you'd eventually realize what the origin of the light was. Maybe it was some reality glitch. I've noticed that the presence of those beings causes reality to glitch - for real - and i've seen proof of it. From simple objects, to people, and even time glitches! But i know most people just don't buy that idea.

I never done meth and don't do drugs or anything like that, and I was plagued by them for a little over a decade, starting when I was in the Marines right after my first deployment to Iraq.. I thought I was crazy, honestly, until one night my daughter was sleeping in the bed with me and my ex wife.. I didn't sleep that night because I was awake watching a shadow person watch us, paralysed.. The next morning my daughter told me an alien was watching us sleep, she said she couldn't move, and she described it exactly where I had seen it. The worst part about it is the paralysis, though it's not always accompanied by paralysis. I've seen them out of the corner of my eye as I pass a dark rooms doorway, standing in corners of the room, or standing in the doorway when I wake up. Sometimes I could approach them and they wouldn't disappear till just before my fist could make contact.. other times they'd disappear as soon as I looked right at them. Whatever they are, all I know is they left me alone once I decided I wasn't afraid of them anymore, and that didn't happen till I convinced myself they were powerless to do anything but scare me, which was somewhat difficult considering I would often wake up to them crowded around me.. I'm convinced they're real. 100%. no question. I believe the theory that they feed on negative energy is the most accurate, specifically fear and anger.

@@Mike-bs5pi I don’t want to discount your experience but when I was a kid I saw shadow people in the same ways you did, I ended up going to a psychiatrist and the psychotherapy involved learning to not be afraid of them. As soon as that happened I never saw them again. I only started seeing shadow people after accidentally witnessing something really graphic that traumatised me, and according to the psychiatrist I saw, seeing these things is trauma triggered, the heightened state of fear/paranoia makes your brain manifest something because you’re unconsciously looking for a threat, our brains naturally try to identify humans when looking around, it’s why we identify certain objects or patterns to “have a face” when there isn’t one. There’s a proper name for this phenomenon that I can’t remember off the top of my head, but it’s a side effect of a survival instinct humans evolved to have back in our hunter gathering days. But even non traumatised people can mistakenly think they see something humanoid in the dark if they get scared. So this is why overcoming the fear is what makes it go away, as that’s what made you see it in the first place. It was actually revealed to me later that kids who are traumatised will often go on to develop schizophrenia if the trauma/fear is not resolved, so I was lucky to have a professional intervention. I also wanted to mention that I had an experience where my younger brother who I shared a room with believed he could see it too when I tried pointing at one. Someone being adamant about something being there can make another person, especially a child, hallucinate too through the power of suggestion. I did later ask my brother, after all the psychotherapy had worked, to describe exactly what he saw, but while it had the traits of the things I said out loud, it wasn’t actually the same thing at all. It is possible your daughter may have been compelled to think something was there because you were staring in a way that was convincing to her. If she had heard you talk of such things before that could also contribute to influencing what she saw. The fact she called it an alien instead of a shadow person (those two things are distinctly different in appearance) makes me wonder if what she thought she saw was actually different to what you did. You’d have to be really careful if you ever decided to ask for a more elaborate explanation from her, just to see if it was different. You’d have to avoid saying anything that could influence her description/recollection of it, even labelling it a shadow person would be too influential. Not that you have to do this at all, especially since neither of you are being bothered by them anymore, plus you don’t want to accidentally trigger her into starting to see such things again. But regardless of whether shadow people are real or a psychological phenomenon, it’s good that you no longer see them, I know for the period of time I saw them it was beyond stressful, it made it near impossible to get a proper night’s sleep. It would definitely seem the trick to getting rid of them is overcoming your fear of them. Hopefully if anyone else is browsing the comment section who suffers from shadow people encounters will notice that this worked for both of us and should more than likely work for them too!

I mean that's a fair comparison. The drug just heightens emotional responses that you would feel even if sober. Paranoia, a sense of impending doom, fear of an unknown higher power; things lingering in your subconscious even if you don't actively fixate on them. If your sensitive to caffeine you might experience something similar.
