The State hospital is only 20 mins from where I live. The police man they killed was friends with my father and years later I was at school with his son. The night this happened my dad was driving the local bus. On his last trip into Lanark. , Mone and mcculoch stepped from the trees and tried to stop his bus. Due to dad having seen all the police cars heading towards Carstairs he didn't stop the bus. It was the next morning he realised who had been trying to stop the bus. Years later I came across Mone in a local prison when I was a student nurse. Mone was liberated from prison I the late 20 17 or early 2p20's. He was aloud change his name So he could be living next door to any of us Another 1 from the state hospital you might like to look into is a man named Gregory mcgurk... I recently watched a video by a former 10 yr inmate at a US state prison. He went through some of the sentences from recent trials and gave his thoughts on how the individual would do in prison. So it was interesting in your video to learn that a fellow prisoner killed the obnoxious father. The KZitemr stated that at a certain point, people in prison just want to do their time and not be bothered by those who make it hard for everyone else and it's no surprise when those people get killed. People think that people convicted of crimes like child molesting will have a hard time, but they forget that the prison is filled with people who've done terrible things. If you behave yourself, you're likely to be alright. If you cause problems for the other inmates or are just a difficult person, you may not do so well.

They both have those trademark “crazy eyes!” It once again poses that eternal question- nature or nurture… I think in this case ir was both. Disgusted at what looks like the sexism of the time. Nanette Hanson’s death certificate has a wavy ink line where occupation is listed, as if a married woman couldn’t have a professional identity. @7:14 "...his actions that day led to later speculations that Robert suffered serious harm at that school... his anger and hatred towards the establishment didn't quite align with him simply being a troubled boy who was expelled." I can see why a _normal_ empathic person would think this, in trying to make inferences about Robert's state of mind. But the fact is, psychopaths have _completely disproportionate_ levels of entitlement and pettiness, and can erupt into violent rage over (what may appear to others as) very minor slights. Which is not to say that Robert was not once a traumatised child, but I expect most of that trauma occurred in the family home.

Such a lot of sad fates in these stories, and so many wasted lives, even if you are a master in describing them... (you should consider working as a narrator for Audiobooks, I'd love listening to them, so many great talents on KZitem.) And BTW: "IHS" Is a Christian acronym, meaning (according to Wikipedia): ΙΗΣΟΥΣ ΗΜΕΤΕΡΟΣ ΣΩΤΗΡ, Iēsous Hēmeteros Sōtēr, *'Jesus our Saviour'* or in Latin *Jesus Hominum (or Hierosolymae) Salvator*. It's a bit like the black metal people, wearing upside-down crosses, claiming it to be "Satanist", but it's actually a Peter Cross, and a symbol of deep humility, when Peter didn't feel worthy to die like his Savior and Lord. Edit: Also the pentagram is actually a symbol of the 5 wounds of Christ.

"Like father, like son" is an old adage that proved to be true in this case. It's hard for any right-thinking person to fathom a father who was jealous and yet proud of his son for murdering people, even including a pregnant woman and a police officer. The prisoner who stabbed Sonny to death should have gotten early release in gratitude of getting rid of a brutal, cold-blooded killer. I guess the only good thing you can take away from this story is most of us don't come from families this bad, thank God.

Well, there's another great video in the books... COMPLETE with another case study I wasn't aware of... I WOULD like to know the courts martial case he seemed to be a part of. Those charges and dismissals might tell us quite a bit about his thinking, particularly in regards to "Being punished for doing what he thought was the right thing." AND don't get me wrong, just being a courts martial, the charges were PROBABLY pretty egregious, but from the sounds of it, his unit at the time seemed to hold a grudge. In the military a unit is liable to take a certain amount of guff for a leader, and even more for a good one or one that is well liked. AND to be clear, there are a few charges in the UCMJ that might give plentiful latitude for dismissal but are usually relatively small in their actual consequences and ramifications... SO it's possible that the whole thing could've been "blown out of proportion"... AND it's similarly possible that there were more in his unit involved than he'd originally thought, and they resented him for messing their situation up as well... The reality is that once you've turned evidence in against ANY PART of your own unit, the military has LONG had a habit of moving you someplace else FOR YOUR OWN PROTECTION, and that's NOT a punishment. They know how this sort of thing works, just like they know about hazing sticking around after its been banned. Finally, it's just worth mention that "Schizophrenia" hasn't always carried the clinical definition it has today. That's only one among MANY points where people see the whole of psychology as less than science, because it's so subject to so many changes over time... Ah... well... That's my thinking on the matter. ;o)

Well told! 👍 Best possible outcome in the end. Pity the same thing didn't happen in hospital to the other criminals!

A chilling tale of father and son murderers is both horrifying and fascinating. Their dark deeds reveal how sometimes a bad apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

When Robert was little, his mother had no chance to divorce the father and get custody of the children; it waa not done. Ir was obviously an extreme case of domestic violence. She was able to escape, but the children were trapped.
