Amazing man. They recently opened a 'Cobbler,' aka Shoe Repair, near where I live, and my initial thought was it will not last a year. But they seem to be thriving, and there is an art to what they do, especially for owners of expensive designer shoes with classic styles that are too nice and well made to just be disposed of. I notice Barber Shops are having a resurgence, I hope this business also has a renaissance. Based on the date I'm watching this, I can only assume a sad ending. Thank you for capturing him, and honoring him, on film.

A sad ending, you are looking at it the wrong way. This man has had a good life and got to do a trade he enjoys. What time he has left is doing what he loves. You think it is tragic because you are young and only think of here and now. He has lived a very rich life.

this is a great American...Do they make em like that anymore...Few and far between..We have alot to learn from folks like this....My elders are very wise..I confide in one who is going to be 84 on his next birthday.....And he keeps it very simple for me...He says whatever you do , do it well....And keep your word....But what he says is most important is there is a God so pray and treat other folks well....God Bless you all..

Very cool. I started fixing bicycles I'd drag out of the trash to sell and earn money in the late 70s. Later when the economy got bad I was able to drag lawn mowers out of the trash, fix em and mow lawns for money or sell them. Later it was cars and I've been working on cars ever since. Mostly on the side while working a "real job". Having a trade that people need is starting to disappear. People don't fix their lawnmowers anymore. They go buy new ones. True with cars too more and more.

I don’t think most people would bother getting their shoes fixed. They just buy new ones when the current ones get worn down. I would assume you’d only go to a cobbler if your shoes have some meaning to you, or they don’t make that pair or shoes anymore
