Everyone is talking about #Dunkirk. It looks great (Christopher Nolan has never had a bad film in my view). But, what we really needed was a film about the gallant First French Army (numbering 40,000 troops) holding off 7 Nazi division (over 100,000 troops) at the Siege of Lille. Without this four-day French rearguard action (which saved over 100,000 British lives), the Nazis would have overrun Dunkirk and broken the BEF. This is about the gallant defenders at Lille, a group who would have made Leonidas and his 300 Spartans proud.
