I think the only odd looking thing is at 2:30 The shadow-casting on Homer is really odd, looks like he's behind a cardboard background. And other than that it'd be awesome to see characters emote more in cutscenes (smile, smirk, half closed eyelids, etc.), instead of only having blank faces 70% of the time, even tho that's how it was in OG cutscenes
@Yfighter2

Perhaps the shadows are intentional since they would also appear on the show, and were the results of layers of cell animation sheets. The larger shadow meaning the cell with Homer was at the top of the stack 😅😁 personally it’s a detail I appreciate

This series is looking amazing, closing in on official standards! I think the Truckasaurus intro needs some Camera-Shaking when it roars, like ingame to show the force of it. Some cutscenes, such as paranoid Homer, have a shadow effect on a kind of Background when it doesnt really need one; it's almost like he's standing infront of an invisible field. Shadows should probably be on the characters or the actual walls themselves.

it's some phenomenal work you've done on it! If i was gonna offer a minor constructive critique - the original animation at 1:34 of the t-rex skeleton has some sinister red lighting and harsh black shading which not only sells its threat level, it also helps it stand out against the similarly-grey background. I definitely wouldnt recommend trying for that level of lighting on everything since that amount consistently across all scenes wouldnt be very simpsons, but having just a bit more of that dramatic lighting in that specific moment could help the dinosaur stand out against the background AND pay homage to the lighting seen in stuff like the Treehouses of Horror or the earlier Sideshow Bob episodes (BARTDOYOULIKEMYNEWCHAINSAWANDHOCKEYMASK)

This is unbelievably good work. I'm blown away by how good all the character animation looks, and when it looks just ok it's in the exact same ways classic SImpsons did. Incredibly authentic. If I had to nitpick anything I'd say some of the backgrounds look a bit basic or need a bit more thought, the most obvious example is Bart and Apu standing staring at each other in the museum entrance, the wall behind them is the exact same colour as the wall in the foreground which makes it look flat. I think if that was a scene in a classic SImpsons episode, they'd draw the background darker to make it look moody and shadowy. Also in the shot of the Dinosaur skeleton, it could probably do with some shading to make it pop out of the background more.

The main thing that strikes me about some of these cutscenes isn't even flaws in the remastering (you're doing amazing), but that the game wavered so much between being stunningly accurate and inaccurate to the show, and it shows all the more in the remastering. When put in the show's style, it's really noticeable how correct they got the Kang and Kodos scene, or the Krusty commercial; they're framed and animated perfectly for how the show handles them. Meanwhile Kent Brockman actually isn't, and reflecting the Hit & Run animations in the show's style shows it.

As for improvements, you already seem to have realised where most of them should lie, so I won't touch on those. The Bart scene could definitely use some touchups though. I think it's less that it's static, and more about how it was left static. Just looks more like a standard/stock expression than him being out of it, or "head empty", as it were, like it more clearly conveys in the 3d shot. Again though, a whole lot more effort put into this HD/remastered pack then more people would put in, keep it up!

You've done a really good job with these cutscenes! The biggest nitpick I have is that the cutscenes look a little flat at times? It's hard to pick out why but I think these may be a few things. - At 1:00 The two of them don't produce any shadows on the ground in the reanimated cutscene. Perhaps blocking out the light behind them would help make it feel more like they're in the scene? - I think shifting hues and values as well as some color correction in terms of the overall image may help bring out a scenes lighting more. This is also an issue the original cutscenes have, so I think its up to you wether or not you choose to change it as you see fit. - At scenes such as 3:00, it may add emphasis to the sudden stop if bart closed his eyes when his head bounced forwards and then back? This is another issue that is shared both between your take and the original cutscene. You can take these thoughts how you want, feel free to take in none of the information if you'd like. It's just my opinion, after all! These cutscenes are coming along great, I can tell you've put a lot of work into them and I don't want to pressure you to do any of this.

I have to agree, some scenes do look flat but I really don't know what makes them look that way
