The Sims franchise desperately needs this energy again. It's like a zombie at this point with no resemblance to its former self.

agreed there was more personality in the games like the costume trunks and the bear that comes to your house and robbers.

Exactly. I miss this raw unhinged dgaf energy. They care way too much about pleasing everyone now

I never saw this version. I wonder if they cut this ending out bc censors didn’t want any allusions to homosexuality. Too bad if that happened, this commercial is cool :)

You know it. America back then late 90s/early 2000s, didn't want any hints or teases to LGBTQ anything in advertisements towards kids, it seems. The Sims, despite being rated Teen, still was marketed/seen as a kids game, and I imagine these commercials would have played on Disney and Nickelodeon, so I guess a censored/edited version was also made too.

Weirdest part is that I *AM* American and I clearly remember seeing that ending on TV. Maybe the full and shortened variants both aired?

Yes, this commercial aired exactly like this version. Stop insinuating hatred for something you know nothing about.

I have found these Official Skins! I thought they looked familiar, and sure enough I found the Skins for Hot Date, Vacation, Unleashed and Makin Magic when it goes from Live Action to In-Game footage. Will be coming out shortly in my Curated CC Pack.

This is the only thing i can truly respect of EA, they didnt just went on the lgbt community to sell as most of the companies do every June, they been supportive since the start, it's the only company i can say it's been there for us since then, the only thing i respect of EA

Considering Sims was virtual dollhouse (and boys "weren't allowed to play with Barbies, but were allowed to spend hours on PC") + that there were no restrictions in marriage/move in between genders since the very first game (much before the most countries in the world approved same sex marriage) And now seeing this... ... Im 100% sure that Will Wright team consisted of gay/bi men 🏳️🌈 Thank you guys for making me gay & making my childhood much better with this wonderful game ❤🌈

I don’t think the team was gay. Just mature enough to acknowledge that gays exist.

A "hot date commercial" is a date commercial that is also a hot commercial. Your title is literally illegible without proper grammar. You meant to write "The Sims Hot Date commercial," with capitalization showing which words belong together as the title of a game.
