I guess the purpose of this video would be giving the rich ladies another reason to do their (over-done) hair, (over-done) makeup, get new bags... because there doesn’t seem to be head or tail of the video except one single (CNA can’t even be bothered to do research on different champagne collectors and just probably featured someone they know) high SES person flaunting her champagne collection? It wasn’t even informative- “oh, I don’t think it’s necessary to know about the champagnes I collect.” Why is this even on CNA?

Singapore must promote its own local food or items and then aims to create them as worldwide brand name. Just like the Chinese is well known for their tea, while the French, their wine. Maybe Singapore can promote chicken rice as many foreigners always mention it is one of their favourite food when they travel to Singapore . Just a suggestion. Btw, the Merlion symbol is unique and no other countries have a icon that resembles it. That icon can also used as a way to promote Singapore uniqueness overseas. Rack your brains.

*sighs. CNA - Return 4:57 minutes of my life. Simi remarkable? It's not inspirational. Nothing motivating or to be looked up upon. Nothing to learn of value. Very out of reach to the general population. I think you could have done better programs to allow the general local population to feel content or at least learn something of value from your programs. Or at least air Singapore to the world in an admirable way. Show off an individual with a compulsive collection of a thousand bottles of champagne and only to learn of her elite group of friends and their lifestyles? Har? Eh producer, you sure or not? I don't want to travel to other parts of the world just to learn that foreigners' knowledge of Singapore is all gotten through such programs. CNA somemore! Scully they think we all rich how? Kena rob overseas because of such mindless program air to the world? Mai la please. Do the general population a favor please, only a select group of them are like this. No need spend precious resources to publicly acknowledge their 'achievements'. Keep them low profile and not enrage the mass or allow others to misunderstood Singaporeans and our general way of life. And to my foreign friends, ONLY a super small amount of people here lives an extravagant lifestyle like this. The rest of the population all just work and eat simply one. Most Singaporeans don't live like this and does not endorse such show off of wealth. Look at other comments for similar sentiments.

@@alvinmah6148 the problem is that these things you are comparing to are different, by the nature of the drink, champagne is not meant for long term storage, the alcohol level is not high enough and the carbonation fades over time, its just imho, a little better than collecting beer. for example cognac or whiskey is more collectible than champagne, because it is more stable and durable over time. Sometimes champagne drinkers would say: 'I thought this drink was past its best, but I was surprised.' Its hard to tell whether they really mean it or they were just trying to comfort themselves.

The title is misleading. 1000 bottles of wine is different from 1000 bottles of champagne. Champagne did not have a long shelf life as most wines. Once past its prime champagne's quality would deteriorate. (wine does deteriorate but it has much longer 'prime' window) It's ironic that the person being interviewed is a champagne enthusiast but the editor just throw in the title "1,000 bottles of champagne". No sane champagne lover would kept 1,000 bottles in personal collection.
