Jonty discovered The Singapore Navy Museum when cycling our second Round Island Route and we wanted to go and check it out.
We hopped on our bikes and cycled the 30km to get there along the beautiful East Coast Park park connector. If you haven't explored Singapore using the park connectors you really should. You can walk it, skate or hire bikes along the way too. It's probably one of our favourite rides with uninterrupted cycling and sea views with the breeze to keep us cool.
We stopped off along the way for lunch at the East Coast Food Lagoon to fuel us up for the last few KM's.
There isn't much else out near the Navy Museum apart from the actual navy! The museum is over three floors and is free entry to Singaporeans, PR holders, children under 6 and foreign military personal. Tourists and foreign visitors are either $8 for adult or $5 for 60+, students. A family package of 5 for $24 worked out cheaper for us so we got that one, you can buy a ticket there but it's easier to do online before you go.
They have headsets for other languages too and it's worth leaving some time to explore it all.
Hands on exhibits and the use of multimedia make this museum really interesting. There are things to watch, listen to and to read. At the end is a short movie which shows a day in the life of those in the navy and we thought it was a beautiful way to end showing the people behind everything.
