Congrats on passing the n2! I’m only 8 months into learning Japanese through the immersion approach and it’s been difficult, but rewarding. I recently re-played Gakuen Heaven, which was one of the first games I played in Japanese… I couldn’t believe I had gone from looking up almost every word, to only looking up a word once every 3-5 minutes. It’s still a struggle finding shows/games that are at my level, but it got easier with time. Nowadays I’ll casually mention a game I’m playing or a show I’m watching and a friend will go “oh that sounds fun, I wanna check it out”, but then I remember that they can’t watch/play it cause it’s in Japanese- this is still a pretty novel feeling haha

Your video is the real deal and perfect motivation. I’m about to give up on speaking and writing in Japanese. If reading and listening is my main goal, that’s alright and valid enough. It’s nice to hear someone say it’s okay to refocus energy. Thank you! Please keep up the great work with your learning experience and KZitem content ❤

I’m right there with you. I have 3 little kids, and not a lot of time. My top goal is to be able to understand the spoken language, and respond a little bit. If I end up being able to learn reading/writing, it would be a bonus.

I’ve watched this video several times since its release, and I appreciate it so much. I also have basically been a Japanese beginner for approximately 10 years and the thought of still being where I am language-wise (or likely farther behind because I’ll forget things) is awful. I’m going to learn and stick with it this time!

Love this video! I'm extremely goal-oriented as well. Every day is a new day. No need to bully ourselves for not doing our practice, but like you said, as long as we are aware and try again while keeping our goal in mind, it's okay :)

Very good timing on this video since I'm going to set up my bujo for the second half of this year later today and now I can have a great goals page! These are all great advice and definitely something I need to be better at incorporating

Yay! Someone it helped, you saved my day! 💕 Good luck with your new bujo! I also added a habit tracker once again just for an impression on my consistency (last week was empty 😆) but usually it feels good to tick things off in the evening 😊 I also do what the author of the bujo method recommended, to read your monthly goals every day, such a great way to focus! What do you usually write down?

@LinLinLavender omg Lin, I'm dying this is such a coincidence! I was journaling with a friend and she got me a journal for goals as a late birthday present and it legit has that what, how, why method listed at the front! It's got the perfect setup to prepare it and 6 months worth of goal related journal pages this is a sign from the universe xD In my normal bujo I usually just write a simple focus goal for each month and at the end write a lil bit about how it went and what could be improved if it didn't go well. I also have a habit tracker page each month, study Japanese being one of them ofc ^^ It's great to have even when not doing the habit so you can see when you didn’t and figure out why

@@MeowMyselfandI what really? The universe wants us to bullet journal! I can wholeheartedly recommend the book The Bullet Journal Method! Sounds like a super neat system you have! 😍 Totally! Just being able to see things with the help of tracking and reviews is such great help

Love your content! 🙂 I have a question. Please feel free to not answer if it's too personal, I don't mean to be nosy. Just curious. In your channel info it says you're from Germany. I'm German myself and I can usually tell when someone is too, that cringey German accent always gives it away instantly. Now, I would never have placed you in Germany at all, your accent doesn't sound anything like that. Do you have any other language background other than German?

@@victoriamarfina9819 I have the same impression honestly! N1 is more formal? Like news and articles I think? But I don't really know 🤣 All depends on your goals, if you want to be able to have conversations and play games N2 is everything you need
