Here is the viral video I mentioned. The dogs in this video are bear dogs trained by the same gal who trained my sister's bear dogs, and this happened a few minutes after my sister and her dogs left this property. Backstory: Most bears are drawn by the smell of food, but people living here learn to secure their trashcans and livestock. Bears usually respect the territory of humans, but some bears are not mentally healthy, and they get aggressive towards people and very destructive, not respecting territory or warning sounds used to deter healthy bears. This was a problem bear. The town was being terrorized by this bear that was aggressively approaching people, attacking livestock, and destroying property, even when there was no food to lure it (it was not a mentally healthy bear). You can see it was previously injured in a fight with another bear. This may have caused brain damage or psychological trauma. Bear dogs are trained to patrol their human's property (or their vicinity, if their human is on a hike), alert people to predators in close range, and chase away bears from people and property. A bear dog will die to save a human being attacked by a bear. This bear came onto the human's property and attempted to approach the house, where there were children playing. The dogs did as they were trained, first barking at the bear to chase it away, and when the bear did not heed the warnings and continued approaching, the lead bear dog, Hans, attacked the bear in an attempt to push it off the property. Eventually, the bear started backing off, so the owner (also trainer) recalled Hans. As a well-trained bear dog, Hans stopped his attack and retreated back to his owner/trainer. The bear then ran off into the woods. Neither the dogs nor the bear were injured in this encounter. Even the strongest dog bite is about as effective as a shock collar to the thick fur and hide of an Alaskan brown bear. instagram.com/reel/CulnCuEPXDN/?igsh=eHB0NDdwcThseDBp

The biggest problem going forward with Moraine and her relationship to these people is that they cut out the climax of the first book. The journey from Caemlyn to the Eye of the World creates a bond for all of the people in the main group of characters from this story. There is a mission. There is sacrifice. There is teaching. There is extreme peril that is overcome. There is ultimately a WIN that this group share after defeating the first two forsaken at the eye. Yes, Moraine keeps that edge about the dragon mattering most... But it is obvious to the readers that she does care about all of the Emond Fielders above all other characters in this story. Its just in the story, she never is faced with maybe having to sacrifice one of them for her/the dragon's mission.

Thought I'd save this for the comment section because the current stream format makes it difficult to have a conversation on a single topic. My comment about poor writing/being too nice isn't ignoring outside interference with writers, but more pointing out that there are writers who proudly declare what they're doing, and writers who just have no idea what they're doing. eg. The Acolyte or She-Hulk. Both have writing staff who have come out and openly stated what they are doing with the script. Rings of Power also has a show runner and writers who are quite up front about representation etc being more important than authenticity. For these people, modern day concerns and political pandering are more important than maintaining the original piece. But putting aside the modern day/current year/woke trashfire, then you just get writers who are bad at their job. The most common problem, time usage. eg. If they need something to happen, or someone to be somewhere, the distance they travel and the time it takes are irrelevant. They are almost instantly teleported to the location. In all of the Star Wars failures, everywhere in the universe is literally 5 mins away from everywhere else. It would take longer to go 50km's on the surface of one of these planets by mass transit than it would to fly halfway across the galaxy... Then there's continuity, eg. Loial getting stabbed at the end of S1 by Padan Fain only to turn up just fine in S2. These things do not speak to interference with the writing process, they speak to sheer incompetence of the staff trying to do the job. Maybe they are doing stuff off the cuff rather than fully planning things out, mebbe they are just stupid, but the TV industry are really not bringing their finest. Good stream btw. ; )

In regards to Loial in S1E8 and S2E1... It's worth noting those "genius" decisions were made by the guy who is the show-runner... AND who is also the credited writer for those 2 episodes.

Ah! I see what you mean by the intent of the writers. Yeah.... the story should always be a priority. If you poorly tell a story, the "message" will not land well. There are plenty of movies and shows I enjoy because they are well done, despite conveying moral or political messages I disagree with. When the story is good, I still respect the material. As for incompetence, that is also definitely an issue. I would love to know if there are cut scenes that were supposed to go in some of those slots. For instance, in the latest RoP video, we see Elrond and Gal set off to collect a crew.... and then we get a map trail transition and then we see them with their crew at a burned out bridge. I was shocked. I thought we were going to transition to them picking up interesting crew members from different places in Middle Earth.

Notice that both Galadriel and Moiraine are turned into marginalised outcasts. Show!galadriel is universally despised by her society and Show!moiraine is not a high noble by her background, but an empoerished underdog. They just can't allow their protagonists to be, like, normal people who fits. *Promised reminder about my thesis*)))

Excellent point... Moiraine was of House Damodred... which was King Laman Treekiller's house... (he was a Damodred). She was actual royalty, in the books. Show-Moiraine (Moron), is just a royal PITA. One of the chain-reaction events that imbecilic creative decision had, was that Moiraine *chose* to give up what could have been a very soft life, to spend it in danger and hardship on a noble quest. More info for anyone who didn't read the books... King Laman Damodred chopped down a "sacred" tree, which was a gift from the Aiel. He chopped it down to make a new throne for himself. This is what caused The Aiel War... and led to Rand's mother giving birth to him on that mountain during that "cold open" scene. King Laman was Moiraine's uncle. Barthanes is supposed to be her cousin (books), not her nephew (show). Note - I'm deliberately leaving out some stuff that hasn't been mentioned by the end of Book 2.

One of the biggest problems that Amazon Studios has, is in a policy... Specifically, "thou shalt not reinforce gender stereotypes". (Yeah, I rephrased it, but only a little bit.) This has *massive* repercussions... The most common, across all studios, is the ubiquitous girlboss, because male leader is a "gender stereotype". if men are men in a show, then they also have to show men *not* being manly... "soyboys", for example. Can't have feminine women, either, unless they counter that with masculine women. Can't have traditional family structures without also having non-traditional families.
@Nyet-Zdyes
2 күн бұрын
Note - this is a common "commandment" of the DEI cult... to avoid reinforcing gender stereotypes, so it goes *way* beyond merely Amazon. It also goes into gaming, too.

16:55 I think that's what people mean by "girl boss." It's not a woman in leadership - it's a female in leadership who acts like a child. Someone who acts like they're always right regardless of the context, which is largely unearned. Moraine in the books isn't a girl boss because she has wisdom the Emonds Field 5 (EF5) don't have - it's earned leadership. And it's worth noting that she doesn't command Siuan. In the show she absolutely is - she effectively takes over the entourage trying to capture Logain because she's simply there. She tells Siuan what the new plan is without giving a good reason why, then constantly undermines her. And unlike the books (where she guides the EF5), she is effectively a bully who takes away their agency while commanding their fate. The way she was rewritten is a big part of what ruined *all* of the other characters.

Nice view! I like mountain views 👍. I lived on Lake Tahoe once, so I think I know mountains. I always wanted to go to Alaska and see if there's a difference. Someday maybe. To get a wooly mammoth I saw that they need to put DNA into an modern elephant egg and get a 50/50. Then do it again with the 50/50's egg after she grows up for a 75/25? And so on. Seems possible but more complicated than 'here is one!' I would think, but good luck to them, I'd like to see one Thanks for replying to some of my past comments and yes I don't reply to your reply because... err.. what's the etiquette?😂 I don't know these things like I know LOTR and WOT!! I don't think a lot of the problems with Rings of Power are because of executive interference. A couple of examples would be Durin and the crafting of the three rings at the end of season 1. Durin IV can't be Durin IV because Durin III is still alive and Durin IV's father. That isn't how Durin works for the dwarves. When the first Durin dies, he is later reborn as Durin II. When Durin II dies, he is again reborn later as Durin III. It is the same Durin every time and Durin can't be reborn until he has died. So there is no way for Durin III to be the father of Durin IV. The three elven rings were the last rings to be forged by the elves. The rings that were given to the dwarves and men were the first to be crafted with the influence of Sauron while he was disguised as Annatar. After he was forced out, the elves tried to make three more rings. Also, the three elven rings in the show seem to have some sort of tempting/corrupting influence over the elves wearing them. That wouldn't happen until after Sauron forged the One Ring to bind all the rings to its (and thus Sauron's) power. I can see the inclusion of the Harfoots and the Stranger (i.e. not-Gandalf) as executive interference. I can see trying to make the orcs sympathetic being executive interference. I can even see the thousands of years time crunch for certain Numenoreans to be alive prior to the forging of the elven rings being executives. I am even willing to consider (no promises though) giving the showrunners/writers a pass for the unforgivable sin of Guyladriel being the protagonist instead of Galadriel. I can't see screwing with the order in which the rings were forged or two Durins existing at the same time being the fault of the executives. That is on the showrunners/writers. If they were fans of Tolkien as they have claimed to be, that should have been something that they should have made sure to get right since all of us Tolkien nerds would rage against those kinds of changes.
