I started listening to old time radio in the early mid 60's, we didn't get TV reception back then. Jimmy Stewart has always been one of my favorite actor's on TV and radio, low shuttle kind of voice 😎

An entertaining radio episode of "The Six Shooter" with James Stewart. It had 39 episodes in its one year run from September 1953 into June 1954. It was rerun in 1956 on KFI/NBC in Los Angeles when I first heard it. The 1953-1954 radio season was the last time that there were many entertainment programs on in the evenings. When "The Six Shooter" later transitioned to television it was renamed "The Restless Gun," with John Payne in the main role. John Payne also could have a soft-spoken voice on television as James Stewart did in the radio version.

The Six Shooter used to come on the KNX Drama Hour ( Los Angeles) in the 1990s and early 2000s.
