There’s one just like this at my local guitar shop for $2399 out the door brand new. It’s a steal n a half. It’s weird cause even their player series fenders are $1100 so it’s not a cheap shop they just happen to have a steal on this exact guitar. I might have to scoop it up.

Their take on the APH-2 pickups. Too cheap to make a deal with Seymour Duncan to get the actual pickups Slash uses.

@@sleepnaught they still use the Duncan's in the custom shop guitars. Gibosn almost always uses in house pickups or regular production pickups for gibson USA,. The custom shop guitars get the pickup upgrade. They get the higher grade Gibson custom shop pickups or seymour Duncan's and sometimes a boutique wind like Tom Holmes or Lollar . They have to offer a pickup upgrade over the USA models with the custom shop guitars. They use the pickups the artist specifies. If Slash wanted the USA core line to have the Duncan's they would use Duncan's but Slash signed off on the in house pickups provided Gibson got them right and Slash worked with Gibson to develop these pickups and Slash was sent 12 different prototypes and kept sending them back with instructions on what needed to be done and what needed to change to get them right and how they were falling short . 12 sets latter slash was Satisfied and signed off on them. .slash is very particular about his guitars and pickups and won't sign off on just anything. He is especially picky about pickups and rejected alot pickups sent to him by Duncan until the got them just right. Slash is one of the few artists that actually uses his signature guitars and pickups onstage So the gibson Slashbuckers hit the mark to his ear and he made gibson get the sound right and there is no reason gibson can't produce a pickup as good or better then a regular production Duncan pickup . We are talking about a medium output/vintage overwound Alnico 2 based PAF style pickups which quite easy to replicate

Yeah, but everybody knows what it can do in a hard rock sense. Greg is showing the versatility of these guitars.

Only complaint is for a $4000 guitar, it doesn't have locking tuners. There are $700 Epiphones with them. Seriously one of my all time favourite guitarists, guitar, and colour. Though the thought of having to spend more to upgrade tuners, is a turn off.

The idea is to replicate, to a degree, the Derrig Les Paul copy Slash used on the Appetite For Destruction album, which had vintage style Kluson tuners.

What are locking tuners $20-30? Pennies on the dollar when talking multiple thousand dollar guitars.
