It's about growing up. It was his last of 59 demos for the album and when the producer said it wasn't good enough, he finished it in 4 hours and it blew everyone's mind. It's about not giving up, about striving to grow and 1979 was the yr he turned 12 which he believed to be the turning point to becoming a man, growing up.
