Btw i cant begin to say how cool it is to have someone on the other side of the pond who is into the whole mod thing. Its never truly gone away here in England, and especially here in the Manchester/Lancashire area. It's great that the culture is followed around the world, obviously by ppl of taste at any rate.

Lovely comment... I hear that fairly often from you guys back in the motherland. The Jam put the hook in me more than 40 years ago now when I first heard them. The first Smiths I heard was probably in '83 with the Hatful of Hollow lp single, "Heaven knows..."

I can't help but notice that you seem to have a preference for rickenbackers. Is it simply the more jangly organic sound, the obvious history with its use by both weller, marr, and im pretty sure also marriot used one when it was the right sound for him. I know he had a lot of different guitars anyway and i think he appreciated the subtle nuances between them all. Or is it also just the cool old school look - both (both? All?l) or neither of the above. I say this as i lean towards the epiphone casino and ive no idea why cause im just as useless with that as i am with any other guitar. But i just love how it looks. I know that should be your least consideration when your playing guitar, but im not good enough for it to matter. I just love it as an object and its great to hear when someone who really can play plays it.
