Same. It brings to mind the time I was living with severe anxiety and depression back in about 2006. Everyday was a painful struggle...life was really horrible but I didn't want to die either. So to hear a song that articulated exactly what was going through my mind at the time was very comforting and empowering. It was a cathartic experience. My life did get better by the way.

I was (and still am) a massive Smiths fan since about 1985 when I really got into them. I have listened to other bands since and no one can hold a candle to them, no one. I always come back to The Smiths. " Yes I'm older now and a clever swine but they were the only ones who ever really stood by me"

andy roukes's bass is fantastic.... he is so underrated. i remember watching this on the day it was broadcast and i haven't seen it since thx so much for posting i am so happy to see this.. morrissey looks good against the green backdrop

This is absolutely classic! They don't even look like something styled from 1984. The Smiths were just so alternative back then. Totally apart from the pack. Moz is my poetic hero, and Johnny (with his classic vintage green Tele) is my guitar hero.

I didn't knew this video. And it's so amazing to see Moz and Marr so young and cool... and all the early 80's stuff such as the big headphones, the recording tape, and the funniest one: Marr is smoking in the video/studio, which is an impossible thing to see today with all the smoking forbiden laws! :P

i think nearly everyone has felt that way at one time or another. morrissey does a great job of singing complete nonsense that everyone can relate to. makes you take a second look at your own emotions--it's silly when he sings it, and it's silly when i think it, but i think it nonetheless.

Not that i'm qualified to answer this but. I think he's talking about emotion vs. rational thought process or a sense of second quessing...being in ones head instead of just letting an emotion pass without having to justify it understand it...i don't know. At least thats what it means to me when I think having a hard time having a natural emotion. an unnatural one might be one that your mind could justify rationally? I think i've had unnatural emotions....
