What a treat of catching your dinner! Good weather, good water, good company, good fish. I can't find anything to complain about, there. Thanks for taking us along!

I can absolutely see why fishing in NZ is so special! Loved watching this second video! Glad a “hard” day out still meant you got what you wanted!

Thanks Jaci! It’s a bit cheeky saying it’s a hard day when we get those results isn’t it. Another special day on the water. Thanks for watching. Thomas 😀

The paddler z was put on correctly, but your bruised banana curly tail was on upside down. The tail should be sticking up. That sign midwater, was probably squid

Hey mate. Thanks for watching. Those motor oils are amazing. Nothing too secret. Just in the channel between the mainland and Kawau Island. Cheers.

Do you have worm baits down there?up here it would be ragworm or lugworm. What might go after a spinner?

Not so common here. The fish sure would eat them though. Of spinning (in salt water) one of the most common targets would be Kahawai. I great fighting and underrated eating fish. I’ve not caught one on the channel yet but it’s bound to happen soon. Thanks for watching this one Don. We hope you enjoyed it. Cheers, Thomas

Hi mate, what weight jig head are you using?
@chasingacatch6017

Hey. Depends on the conditions and depth really. My preferred is 3/4 oz but I’ll fish 1/2 oz and 5/8th also. The lightest possible to reach the bottom I find a good rule of thumb. I do like to feel in touch with it though so prefer a bit more weight at times. Sorry that’s a bit of a vague answer. Let me know if I can be any more help. Cheers, Thomas
