Each piece had to be engineered drawn and made from prints .Machined and fitted and it all works . Amazing!

I dont ever want to see another bloody MAK ever again ,what a bloody pain in the arse they were nothing but trouble -overheating-turbos filters chocking up v/v stems breaking exh gas leaks main pumps inefficient ,the list could go on but---I wont bother

@@dirkhartman9572 Hi . perhaps thats because the Greeks never got there hands on it, the bugger I was working on was a complete sod of a engine- we even had the German engineer out to it & he through his hands up in despair at it.

@@MrJpsspecial yeah Mediterean ship maintenance is known to be terrible but also the newer MAK engines have more Troubles then this 60s engine

Normally about 200grams diesel an hour by one hp so at 80% about 130ltr/hr, very sober for engines from the 60's when everything was still solid...

@@bonkeydollocks1879 200grams per kilowatt hour, a 500kW engine will use 500 X 0.2kg of fuel or about 100kg per hour. Times density about 0.85 equals around 115 Litres. Those small numbers quickly become big numbers when engines run long hours at high horsepower.
