Wow, so lucky to have three (3!) of those beauties! --- I have a California EV Touring (2002) and, apart from the ride ergonomics, the beautiful sound of those Guzzi V Twin jugs is probably what I love most about my bike ... Cheers from Hessen!

Dude, i bought a lightly used 2003 Cali Stone with just 5,800 miles accumulated over 17 years! An average of under 340 miles per year! Pretty much like new and paid only $2,800 through a private seller who's wife was battling cancer. I was only too happy to pay his asking price. Stainless exhaust like all Moto Guzzi's and only Moto Guzzi as i understand across their entire product line with S.S. LaFranconi mufflers that sound exquisite! The absolute BEST sound of any rumbling Harley like tone. Contrary to popular perception it has at around 75hp. plenty of power and this from the 1100 (1064cc) actual. Not one single issue in the 1,500 miles i have personally put on since purchase. The most sure footed and steady handling bike i have ever owned. Which includes a 1990 Kawi Z1000 around 6-8 years ago. By far the best $2,800 ever spent by me on a motorcycle. I love it even though it is the bargain basement special of the California lineup. With no ABS, linked brakes, cruise, etc. Love the simplicity and really only wish mine had a tach and alloy spoked rims instead of chromed steel rims with traditional spokes. Love Guzzi engineering and reliability. In sound it's like a Harley that went to college in Italy and cured it's stuttering habit. I don't see myself selling this one although a close to even trade on a newer Griso would be quite tempting. I'd really rather sell a couple of my other bikes and have a Griso along with my Cali Stone!

I could swear that the folks who designed the Guzzi twins heard a warehouse full of dressmakers on sewing machines and thought to themselves, "How can we make this a manly sound?" They did. They really did. I've only a Nevada 750, but when it hits 4k rpm, I love my ride-on sewing machine.

It’s due to the cylinder geometry. 90 degrees as apposed to 45 for the Hogs. Gives the engine a more even beat, a bit more like a BMW boxer engine

Do all three of these bikes run through shaft drive? Very lovely sounds, by the way, plus the rare transverse V-twin! Though I'm afraid about the rider's shins accidentally touching the hot cylinders.

Yes, all the Guzzi V-twins, big and small block, run shaft drive. They are excellent real world road bikes, built to last, a joy to ride, easy to maintain yourself. A very good design that has stood the test of time. Not for racer types or those who want ultimate performance for short rides. Long term relationship that keeps getting better.

Same firing rhythm. Check out 270 degree straight twins as well, sound very similar. kzitem.info/news/bejne/w2mQqodsrKWJlpg And if the Fiat 500 Twinair had a 270 degree crank it would sound like this too...missed opportunity by Fiat haha. Unfortunately they used a 360 degree crank, so it sounds shit because of the even firing interval: kzitem.info/news/bejne/p6yVk2uufnWWpqg kzitem.info/news/bejne/loeIn6SPaXiEhmU
