Without a shadow of a doubt, the single proudest moment of my life. CC 982 6 Platoon Waterloo Company. Not all of these proud young men and women are still with us, for various reasons. God speed one and all. Serve to lead.

All very impressive. The drill was excellent. But the Adjutant's way of delivering drill orders was abismal. He could not seem to differentiate between the warning, preparatory and executive words of command drawing out the latter far too long. Well done the cadets for still making it look good.

@CarzorStelatis

The third song in the medley, starting at 20:58, is "Westering Home" - a traditional Scottish song. It was probably played because it's about the Isle of Islay, where George Robertson (the guest of honour) was born.

Stomping and screaming, what is the history behind all that? It does not instill fear in me. Might in person. Brits really know how to display their young military men and women. Love this.

Judith Meyer It was simply the method of communication and coordination between units before the advent of radio communication. The same reason why music is used to keep the marching in time. It’s survived to this day just for ceremony.

I've noticed this a lot with this a lot with British soldiers giving orders but does anyone know why it sounds like they're saying "present hype" or "shoulder hype" instead of present or should "arms"? Is it just the accent?

With so many women wearing skirts, I presume that that's the mandatory uniform of the day for women cadets for parades, n'est-ce pas? Is that still the case at Sandhurst? I have to say that looks really bizarre. At the USMA West Point, the women, cadets, except on a few rare occasions (e.g., formal dinners, graduation), wear trousers, just as the men. Skirts, sabres, and assault rifles just don't go together very well (at least when unaccompanied by a sporran).

Because they are females and that should be reflected on all formal occasions. I, on the other hand, was also not impressed by female cadets in the USMA trying to look like men and usually failing.

What's the reality? Sending the young of the political/economical and military elite of your country to schools; military and/or academic (ivory league) in another country to learn wealth building and strategy. They network with other young of the same generation and class (though superficial) building lasting ties (though superficial). The youth returns home with an indoctrination which ultimately alienates them from their people. They subsequently stand at the periphery between loyalty to a network which originate in their school life (though superficial) and the people they now govern. Those who choose to defend their people are predictably defeated by strategy and equipment taught to them and sold to them by their enemy. Those who choose to remain tied to their network eventual come to realize the puppetry of their existence and worst knowing they are powerless to change.
