@MrTechGuy1995 we have never claimed to invent these experiments. What our show is about is taking something like this that has been around for ages and showing it in a way that makes science fun! We are sorry that you feel we have ill intentions, but I can assure you that our goal in taking the time to put together this content for you and our other viewers is to make something that is entertaining, educational, and free for you to watch.

my favorite part was when i willed the fake mannequin head to get pummeled by the ball. though i only have a ± 2.4% confidence level on that sentiment. i did like the pushing kids comments made by steve and other commentators and I'm sure we all mean pushing them to think outside the box that most adults and pedantic systems keep them in... The mass of the pendulum in the system is an independent variable and does not affect the system as a whole. So, you could keep 175 ml of water in one can and only add, say 100 ml to the other and the experiment would give you the same results since the driving force behind the pendulum is gravity, which is a constant. Fascinating transfer of energy though. I haven't set up this experiment myself yet, but I'm sure if we could see the connecting rope, it would reveal a lot just in the visual.

@TheSpanglerEffect My Physics teacher did this and I was the lucky one who got to have the bowling ball brought to my face all I had to do was trust the person on the other side of the classroom not to put any more energy into it but I did so I was ok...plus it helps that I spent 4 years in between two physics classrooms...I love Physics!!!!!

Real facts have been lost in the muddle of philosophy. Finding correct information is hard these days. Lee Strobel is a good place to start. But I'm not here to propagate a religious argument. Not sure how this video was related to the minecraft one I was watching, but it is cool :p

So when you have a cradle, with 5 pendulums, and you pick two off one end and let them swing and crash back into the other three, since P initial = P final and P=MV then why doesn't it just make one pendulum fly off the other side with twice the velocity instead of two pendulums at the same velocity?
@DennisKovacich

Since the system is transferring energy from one can to the other, wouldn't the same amount (approximately, owing to slight decreases due to friction) of energy move the lighter can more and the heavier can less, therefore not producing quite the same results?

NOBODY makes a decent newton's Pendulum these days. They are all cheaply made pieces of crap and don't work longer than 3 seconds. I had one when I was a kid that was perfectly weighted and balanced that it would swing for almost 10 minutes

you give it a little push its quite obvious that it will hit the person rather than just letting go of the ball... Its like you are applying extra energy to the ball when you give it a little push

What actually causes the swinging cans to slow down? I understand the physical idea behind their synced movement, but why do they slow down without exerting any outside force on them?
