I’m 46, with an artificial hip and needing a right knee replacement. Been playing 1.5 years. Play several times per week and love the game. I’ve watched so many instructional videos and I’ve become a decent player. This video has helped me tremendously with timing and accuracy. One of your best. Really clicked for me.

Keyed in on this during some rounds this weekend. Honestly, game-changer for me. I didn't measure my throws, but based on eyeballing them compared to where drives have landed me previously, I was going noticeably further. But the bigger thing for me is the consistency! Just about every throw was a rip (at least for me), and it felt really replicable.

This one was hard for me to understand at first because I'd never thought the right step before the X was an important step, but this led to a discovery for me. My throwing arm has always been too far forward (outside my shirt, as you say here). And my elbow has been too low. I went to the field and tried to focus on getting my arm/elbow in the proper position, and I noticed I could feel more of the "rubber band" tension through my back and arm. Hopefully, I'll see some distance gains once I get this incorporated into my throw. Thanks for the great content!

I've been doing something very similar. After seeing a few Ulibarri tips, I noticed he likes to have people lock their disc arm in motion with their back leg(crossover leg). Extra clarification RHBH - Right Arm locked in motion with Left Leg. So when you step forward with the left leg to cross you move your right arm forward too with the disc on the same beat. Adding in the "Stack" with the mindfulness of keeping the disc locked over that hip and the elbow high and away. That feels even better. Looking forward to working on this. Thanks.

I figured this out during my field work the other day! But, I pre load my “stack” during my run up now. It feels kinda robotic and stiff, but I get a lot more effortless power. I noticed if I did any “natural” motions before like pumps or anything I wouldn’t have my arm in the locked 90 degree position and would lose power and mess up timing. It felt more natural but not as much power. For touch shots I still keep my wrist about my elbow.

Hey guys, I think an interesting topic that not many have covered is flexibility. Yeah i know hip flexibility and such plays a role in extra distance, but it would be cool to have a more detailed look at it. What muscles specifically / why they add distance and allow proper form / what stretches to help progress in this. As a pretty inflexible guy this would be something great to learn more about. Just throwin' that out there. Thanks as always for the great content!

Very straight forward easy to understand video, good job! One question tho, when striding forward do you focus on rotating the shoulders? i cant make up my mind what to do. It feels like i use the anticlock pressure from my rear foot instep to rotate my upper body and sometimes i even focus to use my abs and back muscles to rotate. Giving mixed results with all of them.

So getting the stack from the rear leg to front leg is lateral motion? Once the stack is on the front leg then rotation happens? The rear leg acting as a counterbalance to the arm swing? Thanks!

@@OverthrowDiscGolf Awesome man. This is great stuff. Notice how the rear shoulder moves target ward into the plant, almost leading the transfer. I think moving the rear shoulder that way makes shifting from the backside to the frontside a lot easier!!!! Also this makes the rear shoulder naturally "get out of the way" of the backswing, and make space for the backswing.

How does this work with the Hulu drill?
@OverthrowDiscGolf

The Hula drill is a drill to get the feel of the swing. This is a swing style. So basically you can have a hyzer swing style which the hula helps feel or a flatter swing style which this is more conducive to.

@@Nickeeefy Thanks for the answer. I'm already walking up very slowly and tried to go even slower. What startles me is that I'm focusing on a shorter x-step and it feels a lot shorter but in reality nothing changes. Maybe instead of the overall speed it's an issue of walkup rhythm
