At first, he was a pencil sharpener.
And now, he is The Timekeeper.
I chose to draw him as a being with object head. Of course, I couldn't think of his human look. And he is taller than his size, when he has the pencil sharpener head (or simply called him employee). Anyway, this is not his body size comparison. I'll make the separated references later, if I want to.
The descriptions (and some of my theories about him), might be boring:
He doesn't really have a variety of clocks floating around him. If he has a room of his own, then it will be filled with all kinds of clocks; hourglasses, sundials, wall clocks, cuckoo clocks, pendulum clocks, vintage pocket watches, alarms, and digitals, as well as other types of clocks that might be unusual, like a clock or watch with subdials in it (or simply called them mini clocks).
Even though he didn't have a face to show his expression, he was actually kind and willing to help Stanley. That's why, he seemed mysterious at first. He also used to refer to Stanley as employee 427, as if he were the boss, but that was actually to make him sound more polite.
For some other interesting things; his 'clock face' always shows the number 4, 3, and 2, as shown in the drawing and it is his neutral or happy state. When he is angry or upset, his hour hands point to the number 2 and 10, while when he is worried, concerned, or sad, they point to the number 4 and 8. But technically, he rarely showed any expression, knowing he was only an object that act like a robot.
For funny things that are asked, like does he sleep or does his clock head have a battery that can run out or something like that, no. He never sleeps or rests. In fact, the clock hands never change, except when he shows those expressions. Knowing he is The Timekeeper, he must stay active to keep an eye on everything that happens in the game.
His robe had star patterns that never faded or died. So, they keep twinkling wherever he is, even in the dark abandoned office where Stanley meets him (it's also a kind of reference about humans (or just Stanley) being bound by time and space, lel.)
When he was thinking, the sound of his clock ticking would get faster and louder (even though it doesn't move). He doesn't have arms or legs per se, unlike when he's an employee. So, he's just an analog clock, with hands and a robe covering his non-existent body. The way he moves is by hovering (kind of like a ghost. Or Gaster, perhaps?).
Speaking of ghosts, he is actually always present in the game, but well.. not in every places. Knowing he is The Timekeeper, he was in form of any clocks (preferably wall clocks) in Stanley's Office (or in any part of the Parable), sort of like a CCTV camera or a ghost haunting an old house. So, wherever there is a clock on a room, it means he is watching over Stanley.
He may be a (forgotten?) former friend of The Narrator, because somehow he was present in the Memory Zone (the abandoned one), which is part of The Narrator's mind (just a theory). Maybe that's why he knew about him. Because come on, how could he know about The Narrator, when he's a fired employee? He must have met him before getting fired or something. From that, he gained the power to control the game.
And about he is his former friend, he may not be erased by The Narrator, unlike the boss and other employees in the office, apart from Stanley. Perhaps, because he had acquired that power, The Narrator couldn't erase him, so he could only hide his existence from the employee 427.
And you know about the Skip Button ending? You know in that room, there's a clock on the wall. Perhaps, that indicates his presence. His presence is to keep an eye on Stanley, while The Narrator keep rambling senselessly. When it fell, he was no longer watching Stanley, because he thought The Narrator was gone (though he wasn't). So, he just waited in the Memory Zone, until Stanley met him.
In Epilogue, he know he can't physically exist in the Parable, because The Narrator has hidden his whereabouts and the only way to physically exist is to ask The Narrator to reappear his physical self, but that's no longer possible, because The Narrator is gone (has abandoned the story or simply has died of that cursed skip button, sorry lol). That's why he did it; appears on a computer in the form of text. Although, he can speak normally, but he prefers to not use his voice and uses text to interact instead.
That's all from me. Thank you so much for reading these and watching the video. Like and subscribe for more random contents. Have a nice day/night 🕰️
