When you drive down highways and you see all the beautiful corn fields, just remember 95% of the corn goes to feed farm animals! If that corn and other grains were grown to feed people, we could conquer global warming and world hunger!

i dropped my keto diet and have now onto a plant based diet. I have gained weight quickly and I am not eating much. Disappointing. I notice the weight to be abdominal , my arms, and breast. What can I do to change this. I really started this way of life to decrease my LDL. ty Heather from Nova Scotia Canada

Nice concise summary! I respect Mcdougall's work, but I am confused about why he is so against supplementing anything else but B12. For example I supplement B12, algae DHA/EPA, vitamin D, iodine and selenium. Let me explain why: - I learned from Dr. Greger that most people are not good converters of ALA to DHA/EPA, and having enough DHA/EPA is crucial especially when pregnant and to prevent brain loss in old age. So to be on the safe side, it's better to take pollution free algae supplements than rely on plant foods. - Iodine is hard to get enough of in the diet unless you eat a lot of seaweed or iodized salt. Having to eat seaweed everyday might not suit everyone, and getting it from salt is obviously a bad idea, as you would need to eat a lot of salt. So a supplement makes sense. - If you have light skin, then too much sunshine can easily cause skin cancer, and some people live in places with too little sun to get enough vitamin D especially in winter, so in those cases it makes sense to get it from a supplement. - In Northern Europe the soil is extremely low in selenium, so it's not possible to get enough from plants grown there, which means that plants can not always offer complete nutrition. I understand that in theory if you live in a place with enough sun, that your skin can handle, genetically is a good ALA converter, eat plenty of seaweed or iodized salt and happen to live in a place with soil rich in selenium, you only need to supplement B12, but that seems like a very generalizing thing, and not recognizing this is not the situation for everyone seems misleading to me.

Am enjoying eating this way and people are starting to see a difference in my body shape.Trying to get my husband to eat the same way, as he desperately needs to lose weight but is being stubborn about what he likes to eat and is doing the meat,vege,carb,oil,cheese thing. Just by the way he always refers to you as "Skinny Emmie",it gives me a little giggle.I suppose I can gradually win him over by my example.I surely hope so!

I’m going to get the Starch Solution book. Do you have any tips Emmie from changing from eating meat and animal products to the vegan starch solution? I don’t eat a lot of meat only chicken and mince but I have always felt uncomfortable and eat because other family members do. And I guess it was something I have been brought up with too. ❤❤❤❤ I love your videos Emmie, lots of love from the UK xxxxxx

Just watched you vid about not using an air fryer. If i only have one serving normal 50/50 plate medium serving size. Why would that make me not loose weight. If i boil and steam my potatoes and veggies isnt it the same calories. Only change is the air fryer removes water but the calories are the same, right?

Hey Emmy, I was giving up on myself and was so frustrated with my body and food until I saw your videos. I love listening to you and of course Dr. Mc dugal!!! Thanks for doing what you are doing.I think it's really important work!! I would never doubt your words!! The only thing that confuses me is that one person on you tube. she's called the glucose goodes or so... She says Oats and fruits are the evil course of your insolin.and you should eat those specialy in the morning. I will still follow what you do and say but I would really appreciate if you would tell me what you think about that opinion. Thanks for everything and stay healthy and happy. Greetings from Germany Lis❤

I just wanted to share that in past 12 years I drastically changed my diet 3 times and all 3 times I lost a lot of hair, then it grew back stronger than ever. In my opinion, body uses one set of nutrients and if that stops coming, then it learns to use new set of nutrients. Also, if we eat completely new food for us, then it takes weeks to build enzymes to process and correctly absorb that food. If I remember correctly, each time my hair loss lasted at least 3 months, then new shiny strong hair showed up.
@rosiepetals8488

@@lakas20029 I appreciate your comment, I honestly thought I was the only one going through this because nobody mentions this and if you're loosing your hair then you need to take supplements which I did and the hair loss wouldn't stop granted it seemed like forever and it was around 4 months for me. I'm new to this so it definitely scared me because I want to feel good but I also want to keep my hair.
