A very tough hike through some amazing country leading to a spectacular view at the end. Definitely not a hike for the inexperienced. There is no maintained trails and it's very remote with little to no mobile phone reception as you come in and is very patchy until you reach the top.
Do not attempt this without a GPS trail map or topographic map and compass and personal locator beacon. it's very easy to get lost due to no maintenance of the trails as it's very remote and is meant to be this way as the sign says as you enter from national parks and wildlife. If you get lost its going to take some time to find you. You really need a 4wd or SUV with good clearance just to get to the start point we used.
Very steep inclines and declines along with lots of loose rocks and fallen trees hidden by the vegetation as you go up and down. Don't underestimate this walk and make sure you are well prepared and have plenty of water, especially on a hot day. I took 6 litres and went through nearly all of it over the 8 hours it took to complete it.
