I firmly believe that if we’d gone up in 2014 with that team and a few additions we would have held our own in the top flight and would still have been there now.

Mt experience was that idiot Rush got rid of Nigel Clough who had saved the club steadied the ship and improved the team that was ready to take off then Steve Mclaren got his job and we discovered that Mclaren was a good coach but dreadful manager who could not tell the fans the truth about Newcastle which affected the players your daft enough to want him back.

I must've stewarded about 30-40 games at Pride Park when Mclaren was in charge and yes I mostly watched the game to be honest. Some of the footy was fantastic. Russell was a stand out player for me, every time he got the ball he was making things happen. Keogh was always bringing the ball out the back and starting moves. Hughes I knew early one as gonna be PL material for the age he was at (think he was just 21 but looked so mature and comfortable in the middle).

I believe had we gone up we’d be like Wolves are now.

He’s got a dodgy Dutch accent, but you can’t fault his playing style 👌
